To anyone who needs to hear it: I got bangs January 9th this year after going back and forth for 3 years and always talking myself out of it. Finally I just went to the hairdresser & did it! It took about an hour after leaving the salon for me to regret it and I spent the next two days crying an embarrassing amount... It became clear I had to hide them (to clarify I got more wispy just below the eyebrow bangs) so here are my faves: - low ponytail with barrettes/ clips - deep parted french braid on the front of 1 side of my hair & the other side just pulled back so it’s a half up - HEADBANDS HEADBANDS HEADBANDS - a gelled up ballet bun/ponytail with bangs clipped upwards (I mainly use this one for ballet class hahaha) Ok now onto what has made them grow! (It’s been less than a month and they’re about right above the start of the tip of my nose.... if that makes sense): To clarify, my hair does regularly grow kinda fast but this had made it feel like it’s growing 0.5 cm a week - shampoo with castor oil in it - biotin/collagen supplements (check with a doctor before though! I personally can only take this for 3 months) - avoiding heat like the plague (unless it’s cold, then use heat protectant) - using a teeny bit of castor oil conditioner on them Another tip is to clip them to the sides when you’re going to bed. This doesn’t do much lol but it makes it not annoying and you can twist it different ways to try to get them to flip out like curtain bangs That’s it friends! I attempted to get curtain bangs and accidentally cut it too short, now it looks like I'm just growing out normal bangs. It's covering my eyes and I had accidentally cut it to eye length when I meant to cut it cheekbone length, needless to say I was devastated. I've had bangs before so I know I don't look bad in those, but as of now it looks like it's in that awkward growing stage right after I had cut it. I have about a month until school and I'm hoping since my hair grows fast it'll be more style able by the time school comes around. I don't have school until September 9th, it's july 26th. I had cut my bangs I believe the 23rd. I'm just really hoping by school it'll be Less of a pain to style. I had a beautiful long fringe which just looked like grown out curtain bangs, I just wanted to trim it at cheekbone level, but I cut it at eye level. I'm so devastated 😔

If you really want to get bangs than I recommend watching some tutorials. Also cut them a bit longer so that it's easier to hide those bangs if you don't like it. If you cut them too short your basically fucked like I am right now.

I’m sorry:( maybe try using one of those thick black fabric headbands and tucking your bangs in them. If you don’t like the look of those you could always wrap a scarf on top of it. Otherwise just wait till they grow longer:(

Went to the hairdresser a few weeks ago and asked to just trim my grown out whispy bangs a little bit so they could transition into curtain bangs. Btw, I think bangs look great on you. Your face shape is perfect for bangs, but I noticed as I was watching the video your cross-section for the bangs isn't optimum, which is probably why you hated them. - For people who wanted bangs but have wide foreheads and now feel insecure with them, here's some tips for cutting bangs. Different forehead shapes use different cross-sections; a small narrow forehead will use a triangle, while a wide or rectangular forehead uses a crescent shape for the section of hair being cut into bangs. I recommend parting this hair using a hair-parting comb, blow-drying it, and then cutting it dry. - if you're frustrated because your bangs pop out to the side funny instead of falling across your forehead neatly, the reason will be because of the direction of your hair follicles. Your hair follicles will follow their natural direction they've gotten used to, so if you've been parting your hair sideways for years, your follicles will face sideways as well. To combat this for the first couple of months when you have bangs, style your bangs using a hairdryer and roller comb immediately after getting out of the shower. If you let it air dry, the follicles will point sideways and your hair will be funny. If you don't want to have a shower but want to reset your bangs, wet your bangs, (especially the roots, rub water right into the roots) and then blow dry it. Blow drying bangs to get them to face the right way is the best way to go about it. If you prefer straightening your bangs, blow dry them first to get the follicles to face right direction, and then straighten them. - there's different types of bangs. Bangs are great because they're the best way to frame your face, but straight bangs might not be best for you. Try investigating different types of bangs, such as see-through bangs, straight bangs, curly bangs, short bangs, side bangs, face-framing bangs, long bangs, parted bangs etc. Different bangs suit different face shapes Sometimes I want my bangs, sometimes I don't. Experimenting with how to use that short hair in the front to achieve amazing looks is always fun.
