All of your videos are so helpful and the steps are broken down enough to understand the first time.I have seem another of someone tied a magnet to the end of the wire/cords and used another magnet on the outside of the wall to help run the wire/cords down

Thank you so much Derrick for your feedback! That is actually really smart! Thank you for sharing that technique! Have a great weekend! 🙏🏽😊👍🏽

For those who don't have a fishtape, I think you can just use the same string-with-a-weight-on-the-end that was used to align the bottom box with the top. I use that technique when running new sash-cord on an old double-hung window
@fluffmasterp2 жыл бұрын
Could just remove the bottom plate so you have room to reach in to grab the lines when running them through the wall. Then slide your lines through the plate and reinstall.

This is great stuff. What if your TV cord is too short? Would it be reasonable to get an extension cord?

How about the 2 x4 beams going across ?😮🤔🤔

Nice. Relatively easy on an interior wall... probably not worth it on an exterior wall?
@FixThisHouse2 жыл бұрын
Exterior wall should be ok unless you run across a fire block. Insulation bats should be easy to run the fish tape as well. 👍🏽😊

🤓 - FYI .. Klein is a German 🇩🇪 name. It is indeed pronounced like "line" with a K sound in front and not like the word "clean". Klein means "small" in German 🇩🇪.

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain! I now will pronounce it correctly! 🙏🏽😊

BTW it’s a code violation to run the _power_ cable inside the wall. So if you want to hook your $10k(?) tv up to a power conditioner/surge protector you’re still kind of stuck. By “code violation” I mean that if you have an insurance claim and the adjuster notices that, they will just laugh and walk away. Maybe the answer is to just buy a really cheap tv, and reroute the actual outlet.

Thank you for this info Declan! I will look into this 🙏🏽😊

You can create an outlet above and run Romex to another outlet at the bottom, this one a male connector that comes with a short cable that connects to a regular receptacle. Then you connect that cable to your UPS. That's what I did. My OLED TV is protected by a CyberPower UPS and the wire in the wall is a Romex so it's installed according to code.

if you hide tv wires forever you won't be able to replace the tv at a later date. i prefer to hide them when necessary with the possibility to remove them later.

It's against building code to run a TV power cord like that through a wall because that's a fire hazard
