Just got my first set of clubs a week ago. Great video for a first timer like me. I've played hockey & baseball and found myself trying to "kill" the ball when I first tried swinging. This helped slow myself down and now I'm trying to work on muscle memory with just this swing.

I have terribly low club head speed on driver, I’ve been wracking my brain and scouring the internet for an answer. I think this video answered my problem perfectly because I’m trying to use the same kind of swing plane for my driver as I am my irons. This explains why I’m so comfortable on my irons, but terrible on my driver (drives are straight, but woefully short). Thank you so very much for making this video, I truly appreciate it.

I frankly love the presentation, makes hitting the driver (at least in a basic sort of way) appear very simple and achievable, even for someone like me. OTOH, there are many YT swing instructors who make their approach look easy and when I try them I still mangle the ball. So I'll need to try Danny's suggestions out before passing final judgment, but I did upvote the video and subscribe to his channel to see what his iron tutorials are like.

If anyone says "you're all arms" or "you're chopping wood" remember the "biceps connected to left chest" . It's impossible to be all arms when doing this. Just this tip made golf fun for me.

Hi Danny. Just trying to marry this up with your catapult videos. Any chance you do a sequel to this beginner video that incorporates how to get some club-head speed involved by the use of the wrists. I’m trying to (I think) force the catapult but it’s making things push very badly. My irons and short game are still improving thanks to the thought “throw club-head on an arc”.

Mo Norman would always say to keep your hands in the fairway at all times, and he was one of the best ball strikers ever according to Tiger. He had a simple single plane swing. He hit 1500 hundred drives and they were all 10 feet from each other.

Those of that have limited shoulder rotation must have the clubface slightly closed at address. Then rotate the forearms thru impact to make square contact. We can not generate enough clubhead speed. I have the 2018 Cobra Max 11 degree senior flex. Any hole over 380-440 I drive 225 straight then next club is 9w160yds or 7w 170yds to front of green pitch on with a 60 or 64 and one putt! (I use the DT Solo/Soft/Velocity)
