I wished I would’ve known you before I spent money going to TEX BB Ranch and Driveline. Great Places but I spent Thousands.

I'm not in High School, a pitcher, or someone who plays in pick up games, I just like taking in the serenity of my front yard (I live in the country so it's peaceful) while throwing a Baseball at my makeshift strike zone (it's just an old broken coach in are yard and put up one of the cushions up and throw against that lol I can't afford a pitching net right now). It's very calming and satisfying to hit your spots. Although I miss my spots a lot and I'm a hot head lol even if I wasn't I imagine it'd be hard for most people to keep their cool if they kept missing, hopefully this will help. Like I said I'm not playing in any games or anything so I'm definitely wanting to improve my Accuracy over velocity so I won't get mad as much.

Great video. I have been focusing on mechanics for my son and yesterday I thought about how relaxed he is when shooting free throws. And it hit me he is in his head. So I took a different approach and then today ran across your video. Just more proof that this is more of the track. Thanks. Very helpful.

Focus on your lower body strength so you are able to control your whole movement better. Had kinda the same issues and that helped me a lot.

Aim small, Miss small is an archery term as well. I've pitched for a little over 10 years. Now I'm older and been shooting archery for a short while, getting my form and technique down and I use very small targets and about 60 to 70 feet; I do pretty well. The point is focus on your zone at which your aiming for; The small zone; inside, high, low, outside. You don't focus on the strike zone, you focus on that small zone Madden's talking about. Still enjoy pitching.

Yes, my son is starting to pitch on a more regular basis...he is coming from the side, sidearm, and he has done this since end of November 2017...His HS coach wanted him to work on it and he has picked up on it really well...however, his velocity is about 70 -73. Not bad because it has good movement, but what can he do to increase his velocity...he is 17 now and will be a senior in the fall. Thanks for your time...JP

I’ve always had a 12-6 curve ball that when I played little league I was unhittable, it broke from there head to the bottom of the zone, I was probably the best pitcher in my league. But that was when I was like 12 and the mound was close. Now I am 17 and have a not too impressive ~74 mph fast ball, a cutter (with really good movement), a not so good change, and the same 12-6 curve. But my curve has so much movement it’ll start at the top of the zone but break into the dirt infront of the plate, I am Throwing it with the same arm speed as ever other pitch, but I just can’t control it. Whenever I throw it higher it goes too high. Like I can’t find that sweet spot, so basically what could/should I do to get control of my curve again and get it back in the zone?

As you progressed in your career what resources did you use to build mental focus/discipline? Books, drills, etc. My 12 yr old has above avg intellect & physical talent, but the repetitive nature needed for physical drills causes his mind to wander. Lost focus = poor form = inconsistent results. Thank you.

@respectfullydisagree7115 жыл бұрын
Galactic_YT try the knuckle curve. It’s easier to learn for some and harder for others. Grip it the same, but bend your index finger so your knuckle is resting on the ball. Throw it the same. Expect your first few to fall short of your target.
