Hi Dan, nice video by the way. Just a couple of questions for you. Since you have the PS4 connected to a PC monitor, and your monitor supports 1080p resolution, have you ever tried connecting a PS3 or your PS4 to a PC monitor which doesn't support 1080p resolution but supports 720p resolution? For example, have you ever had any trouble connecting either console using a VGA to HDMI adapter cable or a DVI to HDMI adapter cable? Reason why I ask you is because I'm having issues connecting my PS4 using the DVI to HDMI adapter cable and trying to change the video output settings on my PS4. By the way, I'm not worried about getting sound from my PC speakers for the PS4. Thanks.

Hey, sorry for the late response your comment ended up in spam for some reason. Anyway, I have had this conversations with a few people and have done some research on it. If it is 720p and your going HD to HD your fine. If you start using VGA to HDMI adaptors this is where things become hit/miss. Some people say it works with degraded quality and others can't get it to work at all. The DVI to HDMI should work in theory but again it seems to work for some and not others. Anyway, to get the picture to show up what you want to do is connect the controller up to the ps4 with the usb cable. Then power on the PS4 by holding your finger on the power button until it beeps 2 times. Then follow the on screen instructions. Hopefully you figured this out already but in case you didn't let me know how this goes.

Question! Does it matter which end of the hdmi goes to the tv or ps4? For example if i use one side of the hdmi (lets call it A) it just displays a black screen but there is a ps4 sound in the background, if i reverse it and use the other end (side B) instead, it finally shows the screen and sound. I think my hdmi is faulty. This should not be the case right? Any end of the hdmi cable should be insertable without giving problems right?

It isn't really possible on the iMac. A lot of monitors are great for gaming. I am using a 27 inch Samsung monitor (amzn.to/Up89vf) and it works well with the PS4. Just keep in mind you would need a set of headphones to get sound from the PS4. Aside from that I like Asus monitors as well but most are good nowadays.

imbest112 After taking a look at some pictures and info on that monitor it looks like it is going to be more then capable of working with the PS4. As for your wireless headsets, I looked them up and right on the Astro website they say they are fully compatible with the PS4. The PS4 is really easy to hook up, just follow the steps and if you run into any issues feel free to let me know.

Maybe the settings within the game need to be adjusted. I had to do that with COD. If that doesn't work turn off the PS4, hold the power button on the console until it beeps twice and you should be able to adjust the screen setting. Failing that look into the visual settings of the ps4 and make sure they are set to your tv's settings 1080 or 720 depending on what you have.

+Dark_Smilez It takes minutes to connect like the video shows. Setup is simple too once you get your info all in. That takes about 5-10 min. The part that takes long is the updates. It all depends on your internet speed. I am running with 15 down and some updates take up to an hour. If you download games they can take very long depending on the size and your internet. What I do is download the game the night before and leave the PS4 in standby mode so it loads over night.

When I went to settings to delete the entire account and initialize the system, the whole tv turned off, then on, then off, then on. Sporadically. Every 5 seconds. once it is all connected. Use your "Source or input" button to select that specific input the hdmi cable is in. Also when the PS4 is off hold your finger on the PS4 power button until it beeps twice to turn it on and set it up for your tv. When it beeps twice keep searching your inputs with your TV remote to find the right source.
