Good job as usual brother! I enjoyed the video like I always do and I’m thankful for it as well! When you mentioned Branch and the ongoing work they were doing on the roadway and how the service that y’all are providing is connected to what they are doing, my ears perked-up! Reason being is that when I visited “Lover’s Leap” as I was passing thru the area I was awestruck! It was quite the little adventure heading up the mountain pass and then to find that unexpected treasure at the top was wonderful! I was definitely excited to share with my family what the Lord allowed me to see that day! I wanted to take them back to see it first-hand for themselves! Ironically enough, I have brothers (dear friends) in the construction trade and I was conversing back and forth with them about my experience with “Lover’s Leap” and one of them in particular said that a contract had been let to four-lane that area of the highway and that I needed to take my family soon if they were to see it. A few of them were actually about to head up there themselves to work for the contractor that won the bid originally, but due to discrepancies, that particular contractor did not end up staying there which lead way for Branch to then enter into contract with the DOT. Needless to say, the brothers i mentioned did not end-up working that site. I was told that they had delivered or at least were planning to deliver some BIG equipment to tackle that particular project and then it all fell-through and they had to haul-out what had been already hauled-in or at-least something to that degree. I very-much hope to see y’all working that project in the future! If you happen to capture anymore footage of the project or anything else to do with it, I’d really enjoy seeing it! Well, as always brother, my family and I really do enjoy experiencing your videos, so please keep them coming!

Parrish Agriturf makes a grapple that picks these stacks up from the side. We run their standard grapple and accumulator which works great! Economically priced too,I’m considering purchasing the side grapple for loading the pup-trailers. Now I load several stacks in then place bales on side filling the right wall then load the rest with the grapple giving me a full trailer. At this point I learned a hand-held hay hook works very well. Your right about the visibility on the Alo loader. I’m thinking about taking mine off while cutting and raking and baling. Always nice to see your videos 😊

My friend loaded bix trailers like u are and he did make a platform to stack on and then used a telhandler like urs to push them all the way to the front of box and he could really fill the box up much better and got more in. Like u said turn them the other way. If he hadn't built the form it had to be done like you ate doing. I'd say build that platform so u can't get to all 3 sides and can back that box trailer right up to it. And the buolt a bush bar box for the tel handler that helped get it all the way to the front. It's similar to the fork back but doesn't have the lift forks.

Not good brakes on the semi! In my days of driving I had to drive a rental and it didn't have front steering axle brakes. It was my first time as all our trucks had all wheel brakes so yes kind of scary for sure. I enjoyed watching you load all those bales of hay on that semi! good job for sure.
@DLHFarms
@DLHFarms Жыл бұрын
The truck has good brakes but when the trailer is disconnected and the red button isn’t pushed the tractor goes into a bobtail mode to keep your from sliding the tractor but it takes away too much braking. It will stop but it takes a lot more effort on the pedal when bobtail.

Great system to load hay. Beats the heck out of throwing each bale by hand like in the old days! Is there a bump in the trailer floor that holds up the bale stacks just a little bit? Your tractor almost looks like it wants to stack them 12-high in the barn, haha. The road work section with the haul trucks is a pretty respectable drop. Going down (and up!) that haulroad is something, hopefully no clay on that to catch rain or it becomes a one-way street pointing way down...
@DLHFarms
@DLHFarms Жыл бұрын
No bump in the trailer. Lots of clay and rock here. They have had a couple accidents with excavators sliding off the mountain already. Hope they can stay safe.
@2xKTfc
@2xKTfc Жыл бұрын
@@DLHFarms Oh boy, that could turn into a very bad day. I'm surprised they keep working the job in the same way after the second slide. Have seen jobs where the excavators are put on a giant winch to safely work on unreasonably steep slopes, and even dams.

Great that you can load a semi by yourself! I have to pay someone to get up in there and stack because the buyer wants every bale in there they can get to hold cost down. Looks like you loose space on side and top but great not to need help if they don't care for less bales

I built a loading dock and now I can turn the packs sideways and stack them higher. In the video I was able to put 360 bales in,the next time I loaded the same trailer I got 490 in and could have hand stacked a few more in the back but I didn’t.

Might want to measure your stacks, and do some math-- make a mark on the trailer wall where 3 stacks should be if they are at the front wall.. give yourself a few inches of margin just to make sure you aren't tearing up the trailer..

Main reason we converted fro a Bale Bandit to a Bale Baron......More Bales per load.... going to Hay customers... They get to use our trailer as storage at their store.... loading the 21 bale bundles as they come out the Baron .. gives us a load of unstressed bales, which are more attractive to their customers......We stack 3 bundles high (63 bales)....12 deep in trailer 756 bales.....Not enough straw in our area to even consider handling it......

Do you think the string around the pack is a necessity? I'm looking to mechanize my straw production and I'm noticing some guys using the string wrap grapple and some just use a regular grapple. Does the string get tight enough to hold the pack that tight or is it kind of loose around the pack? Thanks
@DLHFarms
@DLHFarms 11 ай бұрын
I did it for years without the string it definitely can be done, but after using the string I could never go back to not having it and it gives you the option to use the new squeeze from Norden if you use the string.
