1. Decisions must be in line with your goals. 2. Small, repeated decisions, have huge impact (IMO these are best transformed into habits) 3. Take yourself out of the situation: what would you advise your best friend if they were in your situations? 4. Satisfice (make good-enough decisions; though it's not true that you can reverse all decisions. Plus, the cost of reversing can be monumental - imagine you decide to get married to a person you only match so-so with, then have kids together. Now 10 years later, reverse that decision...)

5'40" Take yourself out from the situation echoes with the book, Decisive, Distance yielded clarity. The advice we give others then has two big advantages: it naturally prioritizes the most important factors in the decision, and it downplays short-term emotions. Great sharing!

That is absolutely TRUE :)

I try not to overthink my decisions as this is one of my biggest challenges. I try to keep them simple, but it isn't always simple. Let me know in the comments what is your biggest challenge in decision making.
@DanDascalescu-dandv4 жыл бұрын
Decisions are of different kinds. Should I do vs. should I not, are simpler than "Which way to go". When there's no good option, deciding sucks. For example, moving somewhere - any city will have pros but also significant cons. Another category is one where all top choices are pretty similar in overall value, but you can't bring yourself to just flip a coin. Which one do you pick?

This was the best advice out of all the videos I watched. Logical yet flexible. The key for me is the forget the perfect decision. Instead figure out what’s good enough. Thanks 🙏🏿

-Xavier Martin I think this video is very important because it shows u how important a decision is. No matter how big or small a decision is it can have an effect on your future. I regert alot of decisions I made as a kid. If I would've been a better kid in school instead of being such a bad kid then mabye I would be better in school now in days. P.D JACSKON OLIN

Hey Xavier, Thanks for your comment. The fact that you reflect on your past decisions is good and it means that you are self-aware. You can learn from your past and therefore make better decisions today. Janis

How to know the decisions we make whether gud or bad.while taking decisions jst felts that it is the crct choice at that tym.. then it bcms the worst🙂
@ProductivityGuy-3 жыл бұрын
To know if your decisions are good or bad you have to look at the impact or results. The challenge is that results will be delayed so you have to trust your gut.

I know exactly which decisions will better my life and improve it in the long term but I keep on making destructive bad decisions and then regret them. It’s like I know exactly what is good for me and what’s bad but I still make the bad decisions. That’s why I clicked on this video. I think I need to stop smoking weed coz over the last few years it’s made my discipline weaker and made me make bad decisions.

Take yourself out of the situation: I guess it requires some practice to play your role on some one else. Depending on the confidentiality of your decision, could it be an alternative that you ask someone whom you trust of their suggestions or opinions?
