I'm definitely adding this stuff into my training. Thank you for the tips.

Something about mechanics that doesnt get talked about enough is ankle action. Being able to get good plantar flexion off the blocks and off the ground is critical and is something that separates novices from elites. How you strike the ground is also important, its a backwards pulling motion. Again the ankle action is critical, being able to get your toes up in the air and then start to flex them down as you strike and pull back is very elite. You want to almost slap the ground with your feet.

That information is suppressed by the powers that be to keep slowpokes down and keep novice coaches in the dark. This is not a joke. Why do you think most coaches use the mindless conditioning repeat 200m and 300m workout philosophy while never addressing weak ankles? Those who know wont share the information. Then videos like this come along but many are still unable to break their programming of repeat conditioning- why? Because they did it. Now they coach it. Many will watch this and will be amazed that everything makes sense. But then they go right back to doing their same old thing. Us three gonna be the only ones with prime acceleration when the apocalypse comes. My ankles and feet are STRONG

@@nodeout5465 high volume/long runs/sprints build resilience for those runs. Tendons/ligaments will adapt. But acceleration is different. Different angles, forces,.. Yes we need very strong feet to accelerate effective. Weak feet means no power from the brain to the muscles! A savety protection. Same with the spine.

I noticed for when you mentioned ways of resisted sprint training you put a poop emoji next to the parachute but could you explain why the parachute isn’t a good option for resisted sprints?
@AdamPlanetary7 ай бұрын
When you use a parachute you have to use the wind as resistance. You can’t control how much wind or what direction. There is no way to track progress with it. Sometimes there might be a cross wind and most of the time it’s just frustrating. It’s definitely one of the worst ways to add resistance to sprint training.

@@AdamPlanetarywhat do you think about a parachute in an indoor facility?
@AdamPlanetary7 ай бұрын
@doppelgangersmoppelganger9883 there is still now way to move up or down the resistance. Parachutes aren’t the worst thing in the world but there are just so many other better alternatives.

what simple exercises do you think have a great carry over/correlation with acceleration? Many think it's horizontal jumping. Others think it's relative strength in the powerclean. Some think it's a high RSI. But there are sub 10s (elite) sprinters that aren't close to elite in those exercises... Maybe because those exercises are bilateral and don't need much triple flexion.
@AdamPlanetary6 ай бұрын
The best exercise to develop acceleration is short distance sprints and resisted sprints. These other forms of training aid acceleration to a certain extent not replace it.

hmm bolt doesn't land under his center of mass, but slightly behind it, during the start. I think for most people the 'stay low as long as possible' is the most bang for their buck.
