A video on tips for active compression would be very helpful TOO!

The best way to improve flexibility if you're a stiff piece of shit like me, is to have a big 300 lb. Slavic man squash you, push you, pull you, etc. Expect to hold these positions for up to an hour at a time. The tears will flow... you will cry and the pain will be excruciating. You may even pass out from the pain. This is advantageous as you will be unconscious and therefore unable to resist or feel pain. You may feel and hear tissues tearing. Ignore this. If you have a job, quit, as you will not have time for anything other than stretching and crying. This is your life now.

I can't reach the floor while I'm sitting in stradle position on top of basically a chair (about 30cm high - that's when I can keep my back straight.) Any advice? I'm not fat or anything, it's just this is such a weak point for me...

In that case it's good to set different goals and work some lower level hip mobility. Work on getting comfortable in basic positions like straddle and pike and getting access to adjusting your hip position. I'll try to make another video for lower flexibility levels

Is a pancake just another name for a straddle?
@HandstandDiary5 жыл бұрын
no, it's when you sit in a straddle and lower your upper body to the floor. a straddle only refers to the position of the legs, independently of a forward fold :)

Have u tried Emmet Louis ballistic stretching for 28 days? If so how did you go.
@HandstandDiary6 жыл бұрын
haha, yes I have. I can't really give you a valid answer on that one because when I did it, I also did a lot of other very intense stretching and it was too much over all. So actually that was in September 2018 and I'm still recovering from it. But I know quite some people who it has worked super well for. So I recommend you to give it a try, but don't go hard on overall stretching. Just stick with the ballistic program and see how it works for you on its own.
