Tips 1. Slow down. Try to not to use a lot of filler words 2. Try to be okay with silence 3. When you speak about something that’s unnecessary you can speak more quicker / but when you get into details that’s when you slow down 4. Know what are you talking about / try to use simple words that you feel familiar with 5. Be specific and clear 6. Put a pen between your teeth for better articulation 7. Record yourself talking and analyze the way you look, the way you’re talking, the way your hands are moving and Critique yourself 8. Practice in the manner you want to perform for example if you want to say a concept in a fast way you should practice it in that way and not in a slow way 9. Be Dynamic , speak sometimes in a slow way, sometimes in a fast way, a little bit louder or a little bit quiet

I don't really struggle with talking fluently but it wasn't always like this. For the longest time I barely talked to anyone and so I just didn't know how to talk. The past year I've talked to more people than I've ever talked to in my life and that really helped me grow my vocabulary and fluency. I also experiment with new words all the time. If I'm watching a youtube video or talking to someone and hear a word that I don't know the meaning of, I look it up and try to use it in conversation later. Over time it just builds a really large vocabulary.

I want to point out how incredible of a distinction he made between "critiquing" ourselves and "judging" ourselves. Constructive criticism is very healthy to have when evaluating yourself and can allow you to see the faults you possess and lets your mind find a path towards improvement. Judging yourself with overly harsh words and having the mindset of "I stuck therefore I can never get succeed" is something that one should be cautious of because that sort of negativity really blocks us when trying to better ourselves. I know these two words can most likely be used interchangeably if we shift the adverbs surrounding them, but I truly appreciate the distinction because it can have a wildly different impact based on how a person chooses to interpret the correct way to appraise themselves!

@@Max9nce I suggest to always improve your second language but without neglecting your main one. English is absolutely essential in my life today. I get higher paying clients for my online business only by speaking English moderately whenever I travel (not just in Anglo countries, but anywhere in Europe, India, South Africa etc). I’m trying to get better to reach out people online in a more professional way though. And still, I realized in my main languages I can’t do any mistake at all or else people mistrust my capabilities overall, but in English the world forgives you MUCH more because you’re not expected to be perfect, just get your point across (and the clearer, the better), so that’s an endless amount of opportunities and freedom.

Hey man I just wanted to say that this video really resonated with me. I struggle a bit with a stutter and I feel like sometimes I definitely speak too fast. I also have some video ideas that I think a lot of other people including myself would find helpful: 1. How to move more confidently and how to move slower. I feel like the same kind of thing you were talking about with words can be said for movement and how it makes you seem more confident. I would LOVE a video on this. 2. How to speak more clearly/louder. I have a semi-deep voice, but people always tell me that I am not talking loud enough and I can not fix it for the life of me. If you could offer some insight that would be a huge help. Once again I want to thank you so much for your help and I wish you the best on your content-making journey.

It's likely something called expressive language disorder, it's a disorder where you have trouble remembering words to say to describe your thoughts. Most of the people here likely has it but don't have the term to describe what it is. It's not autism but a lot of people with expressive language difficulties are autistic, it's a common symptom. It's caused by a disruption of an area of your brain called brocas area caused by damage or underdevelopment. Brocas area controls production of speech and language, and it causes difficulty for someone to say sentences and words correctly. Autism may cause this as the autistic brain develops unevenly and this uneven development varies from one autistic person to another, that's why many autistic people have different varying symptoms and that's why autism is a spectrum. However just because you have trouble with expressive language doesn't mean you're autistic, there are many other symptoms of autism of social communication and interaction, repetitive behaviors and interests, sensory sensitivities. I'm autistic myself and have other symptoms rather than my language difficulties which puts me on the autism spectrum

Silence is golden. It allows people to process what you just said. It allows your body to "reset" which is why it's recommended to take a break and walk away during an argument. You're not hearing the other person, and you're only listening to respond. You're also not open to what the other person is trying to say.

yes, slowing down and taking your time when speaking in front of people is a must if you want to sound articulate and confident. it leaves the impression that you're self-assured and more intelligent than u actually are - which is what we want to achieve. ps. it's not "gaslighting" yourself and every one into thinking you're someone you're "not" when done in a way that does not mislead others. hence, it is important to slow down your words and let your thoughts align with the pace of your tongue to carefully think of what you're going to say in a comfortable manner.

Practice being in your own body when you are out. You don't have to put so much attention in all the little details outside of you. And there's nothing that can actually harm you when you are in a social situation. Maybe the worst thing that can happen is people would get awkward around you. But I don't anyone would let themselves be in an awkward position so even if you are in that situation let them just adjust it. And don't fear so much it's safe out there. Try to have a purpose whenever you go in a social gathering and if you don't or cant social then you don't have to. Ik it feels bad not be able to talk but it's okay you can try small things to make it better. Try being comfortable around people even if you don't talk and try to reply what you are asked. Give yourself that small win, i hope it gets better with you slowly. And remember you don't "need" to make conversations and you don't have to be "good", enough to talk to its okay to feel anxious and clueless in social situation. And another thing i can tell you about social situation, its not just you 90% conversation you see happen there is some awkwardness their it's the people who choose not to make a big deal about it. People are just putting up act to make other person comfortable almost 90% times. So don't worry and keep trying you'll get better with each try :D

I'm starting a new channel. But I decided to challenge myself and do it in English (which is not my first language). I'm doing this because I think it would be a cool way to improve my English conversation skills because I can understand what people say, but I can't speak and I'm not good at forming sentences. Talking has been the hardest part of this for me. Thank you very much for this video, it will probably help me a lot.

I speak a little too fast, everyone says I "mumble" when i talk. I also admire your body language. Any tips regarding these points?

Bro, listening to you about how to improve my speech, I felt like you were giving me advice on how I should live my life. I just cried, because it's exactly what I needed - someone to tell me not to worry, to take it slow, and with time and practice, it will get better and better. And now, that's how I will approach my life - slowly, enjoying every failure and achievement. Because through failing, I will learn how to achieve, and through achieving, I will know that I have learned.

I am non-native English. I can understand English 99% but when I try to speak my mind goes blank any practice or advice can help me. Thank you for your help bro

Hey a non-native speaker here. I get what you're saying and I struggled with it for a while, most people advice for me was be to practice with a native speaker or with someone who's trying to learn like you but I didn't have neither of those so I kinda came up with something and it was simply just talking to myself saying lines from movies that I've watched and it kind of worked I did get someone to practice with in the end but this method did help me to get less nervous and more confident and to get my words right. So maybe give it a shot? Idk I hope this helps

I love your style. I relate to how you paint your picture and use music as examples. I am an ESL instructor and use a similar style to teach these skills. Thank you.

I love your videos because you make every single one feel like a conversation. The guitar in the background just makes it even better, like its actually a deep talk.
