@@Praise___YaH Viruses also live in the secretions from your nose and lungs. So dude your snot could carry millions of virus particles. When you sneeze, you spray them into the air around you. Others breathe them in and the virus starts to reproduce in your nasal passages and other mucus membranes. Masks help keep your snot and spit out of the air, which helps keep others safer. They are not 100% but they do offer some protection to you and others. If you don't think viruses live in nasal secretions, look it up in an online biology book.

So I did an experiment today. After two years of refusing to wear a mask, I figured what the heck, let me actually wear one to see how it is and if it does much of anything. I went everywhere masked up with the blue surgical mask. Shopped for groceries, went to a restaurant, got a haircut with it on, and went to Target. It’s definitely bearable to wear it, so that’s good, but it felt like nothing more than having a paper towel over my face. There’s no way these things stop viruses. I even tried blowing out a candle with it on and succeeded.

I tried on one of the N95 masks that are being given out free. These masks use 2 straps that go on over your head. One of them then goes behind your neck and the other goes behind your head. While these masks do provide a complete seal on your face, they are very cumbersome to use. Great for surgery purposes, but an overkill for everyday use. The newer N95 masks use straps that go behind your ears - much much easier and less hassle.
