For a chill dog, Yaxi does have alot of "explosiveness" - he springs forward really fast. And that body language early in the video - "I'm here to work but I haven't figured out what you want yet." This boy is going to be something else. Haz, you got a serious diamond in the rough right there. I'm glad he's in your hands - you're the right guy to get the most out of this dog.

My dog can be meh about food, but he will always eat more in a training session like this than from a bowl. It really works! Also ❤ Yaxi! 🤩

Great insight. Sometimes I see my dog acting that way while playing but I don’t read her properly (lack of xp in my part) as you described and I realize it was a lost opportunity to get more from her. So this was great info for a dedicated non dog trainer. Great video! Thank you!

I have a medium/lower drive Malinois. We've struggled with focus during training. I tried this today and WOW the difference! I'm excited to see the difference this makes over time with our training sessions.

Your last comment about spiking the food is a good one. Have a friend that uses hamburger. Takes the kibble and a small omount if nice wet hamburger. Mix it together. Put it in a zip lock for an hour or so. Dogs love it. Put that together with your dynamic food delivery. Tease, tease, tease and your on your way.. Again #GoodStuff!

Haz, I love you and all your videos! Thank you for your willingness to share your experiences and knowledge to the world. I've been following you for almost a year now and watched every video you have ever posted. Thanks to you I have a very well trained German Rotti on his way to Level 2 protection for my wife and daughter. I want to thank you again for all your hard work and continued commitment to spread the word of great training techniques. Yes I do follow other trainers like K9 Mike and a few others. However I do take what they say with a grain of salt and always refer back to you and your videos for verification. Please continue to share with the world as there are many of us listening. If you do read all your comments? I would love to see a video on some big dog training like German Rotties or Mastiffs. I definitely understand why you chose a smaller breed when it comes to the bite work. Man these big dogs are killing my arms and shoulders ;-) there's nothing like a 150-200 lbs dog pulling on a bite sleeve. I struggle cuz I'm only about 175 lbs myself. Any help, tips our tricks would be much appreciated! Thanks from one of your biggest fans!

This is exactly what I'm working on currently. Off the backtie, my dog is into it. On a backtie, not as much. Trying to find balance, as my dog isn't really into eating at all out of a bowl if I'm around and we could be playing together and eating.

Very interesting content Haz. I can’t wait for the day when I’m able to purchase a German shepherd from Shield K9. Yaxi is gorgeous. Envious of whomever is his handler.

Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for. Could you make a video about the equipment you use and why you use them. Agitation Collar, E collar, leashes etc. I’m having a hard time deciding if I should invest in a harness or agitation collar for my dog. Which one is better

My dog would kill just to get a dental treat. He won't even lift an eyebrow for a ball, or any toy. He will however for some reason chase small critters until it killed him if I let him.

As usuall your not giving a big secret away. This stuff has been done like this for a long time by the pros. What you are doing though, is giving spot on verbage and explanation of how to build drive. I like to explain it as, tease, tease, tease.. #GoodStuff!

What should I do when I let my dog chase the food, he gets it and he realises its kibble and spits it out?

Haven't watched the whole video yet but wouldn't a good strategy be only feeding your dog during trading sessions instead of leaving a bowl out all day for them to nibble on? I'm sure some people would call this animal abuse, but dogs in the wild probably have to get go days without eating and it's part of the reason why the gobble down a whole bowl of food in seconds because his instinctual that they know they might not be able to eat for days on end.

That's exactly what he does! He says it makes the dog really want to work because they only eat when they work. And it's wrong (IMO) to leave food out 24/7...dogs are not grazers...horses are.

If you need to starve your dog to work for you, you're doing something wrong. Look into ivan balabanov, food isn't even necessary use play.
