This could also be great for designing a maternity dress. Just add more padding to the belly, hips, breast, and butt, depending where the person holds their weight.

Hello from France : D I'm a French lady. I'm plus size. I have issues to find nice clothes. I bought both a sewing machine & and a surger. My real issue is to find a good book explaining to beginners how to increase the size of the bodice. I need bras, g-string ect. (In France, they do H.A.T.E) to sale & design clothes for + size. Thanks for your help.

Kameame pop corn Regular pattern making books don’t usually cover much lingerie. They’re a lot of patterns for underwear available though and they usually have a large array of sizes. They would also come with instructions, which you kinda need with bra making. I think, they’re also sellers on Etsy, who will custom draft specific patterns to your measurements. Not that I want to discourage you from learning it yourself, but if you only just started sewing, you might get a little overwhelmed, trying to learn everything all at once.

@@raraavis7782 Hello, thank you very much for all your answers : D Actually, I'm able to sew. Not like a pro, but I'm not a complete beginner neither. I bought my first sewing machine 3 years ago, and my surger last October. I'm able to sew a legging. A simple skirt with elastic. A bra, (but I'm not sure if I increased the pattern at the "good space"). English is a real challenge for me, but I'll make do : D Could you provide me any name of seller on Etsy who could help plus size ladies? Thank you so much : )

I am soooo glad you did this video, even though my mannequin has the dials for the adjustments it still didn't give enough for the breast and rear area. Question: my mannequin has an ellipse shape for the armhole instead of a circle shape, how do I drape for that armhole? Thank you for the video..
@vane13p5 жыл бұрын
Hey, about the adjustable mannequin, do you think its a worthwhile investment? They always strike me as a bit flimsy.

Vanessa One advantage of styrofoam mannequins is, though, that you can push needles into them. And you can also make them strategically smaller, by removing material with a knife (I have small boobs, so that was important to me). And they‘re cheap. Mine was just like 20 € of eBay. Of course, if you need it to work for different people, an adjustable one, is better, but otherwise...I would recommend styrofoam.

The limit to this system is why also never bought the Fabulous Fit system: though you could alter the shell to fit, you cannot actually shorten the rigid inner structure of the form. I am 1,53cm or a smidge over 5ft tall, and a proportional hourglass Petite. It is not possible to alter *length* measurements on forms such as the one you show. My back length is 39cm. I also have a smaller frame and narrower shoulders, even if my circumference measurements fit into a standard size. My hip to waist distance is, again, shorter. You can't compensate for Swayback, either. So this works IF your torso is the standard length of the dressform. Short people and Tall people cannot really just pad up a dressform. It would be good to add this caveat.
