I'm 3 months into taking working out seriously. I'm 38 years old and I just started taking working out seriously and I made my channel to hold myself accountable. I started off at 155lbs I'm currently 175 and my goal is 200-220 lbs. I stand at 6'1. I do weights and bodyweight exercises I appreciate the extra advice to help me step up my game. I have been subbed to you for a minute. Keep up the good work.

...dude, have you been eating enough?? We're the same height and I'm kind of skinny at 175lbs. I highly suggest eastern/northern European food.
@BodyweightBeastFitness21 сағат бұрын
@kraagnjilwulf1413 I'm tracking my calories and protein I'm eating enough I was a 155 lbs when I started and last time I weighed myself I was 175 I'm gaining weight at a healthy rate. By this time next year I should be sitting at my lowest goal weight of 200-220. I share my calorie intake everyday in my community post and I'm showing my fitness journey the whole way. I'm 38 and will be 39 in February. I am going to show that it's never too late to start and anyone can do this.

Thank you for your contribution. I really like rhe idea of maxing out before bedtime but won't that cause overtraining? And would you recommend that protocol on restdays or/and work days. I do full body every other day. 🙏🏾🦍
@LaVidaAwesomeКүн бұрын
One extra set before bed is not going to put you into Overtraining. This is similar a concept known as Greasing the Groove , which is designed to encourage muscular endurance and efficiency by doing shorter sets more frequently throughout the day. I have a video on my channel about it, and there’s a better one on The Bioneer’s channel as well.

On the ladder portion, when you complete 4 sets of 10, do you try the next step down on your next workout day? Or do you just continue to bang them out until failure??

I have a question, how come i should keep my head forward for pushups? i tend to face down. ill try and start looking forward im just curious why that would i SHOULD do it
@GrittySoldier4 күн бұрын
Keeping your head straight and looking ahead during a push-up helps maintain proper spinal alignment, preventing neck strain and ensuring effective engagement of the core and upper body muscles.

Outside of the nightly pushups, how often should I train a TABATA weekly? Would a TABATA everyday be counterproductive?

A little less than 3 weeks out before going to PRC. The past whole week got sick asf and couldn’t work. Now need to make sure that i won’t fail pushups whenever the time comes and was wondering if you would recommend heavy sets in the 1-3 rep range, adding tabata pushups at the end of the workout and pushups until failure before bed 4-5 days at week?

What about doing 2 methods every day? Let`s say on day 1 and 3 Tabata in the afternoon and max. Set before sleeping. And on day 2 and 4 Incline/decline and max. Set. Day 5 is rest day. Would it work or is it too much?

@cpiff1005 күн бұрын
I did the most pull-ups in my life at 225 right before Ranger School when I was 25. Focus on quantity of body weight exercise ie doing 300 pull-ups a week, 500 pushups a week ect do whatever combination of sets and reps for daily totals to get your weekly totals

Here are the methods I tried: K boges pullup program. It's on youtube. Takes some time to get a momentum going on but will help you to get 15-20 range. Decent mixture of volume and intensity. Probably can run indefinitely till you hit 20s if you arent gonna get bored. Pavel Tsatsouline grease the groove method. It's on youtube. Good for short term, like a few months. Eventually the intensity catches up and progress stalls, even goes back. Pure max intensity program. Do it till no more progress then switch to a higher volume, lower intensity program. Fitness FAQs 20 pullup program. It's on youtube. Surprisingly good results. Short program though. Can do this right after grease the groove. Mixture of high volume and high intensity. There is another youtube channel but I forgot the name. It's a Romanian guy doing high volume calisthenics. He also has a nice high volume program. Good for short term. Armstrong pullup program. It's a pdf online. Free of charge. People say they got result but didn't work for me. To each his own.

At osut infantry school I got in being able to do only 3 pull ups so you are better then I was at the start of my infantry school being only 140lb and never working out to much after training I’m 150LB with a 24 pull up max because after every meal breakfast lunch and dinner we always had to attempt 10 pulllups if you can’t do 10 then have someone or a band assist you so you still get the reps this will help you get the muscle memory and strength for these muscles you use but doing this throughout your day will definitely help but also saying you can’t because you are over weight means nothing there is one of your muscles that gives out pulling you before the others when I started it was my grip strength and upper back muscles I have never worked out
@et78784 күн бұрын
This increase was over 22 weeks and I know guys that were 200LB 5’10 doing as many pull ups as I was though they are heavier there weight is more muscle and strength
@arcadepiano4 күн бұрын
i started this journey of gym 7 years ago when i was 39. i grew a lot of muscles and i did less than 200 push ups in total. why? because it's typical on army movies and i prefer the inpredictibility in example training how to avoid been handcuffed. you never saw that coming. if you do the average you only can become mediocre. in order to be extraordinary you must avoid what the joe is doing. my athletic body looks like spiderman and still no push ups.
