Good job Jon. Thanks for taking the time to show us this stuff. I think having electronic shifting kind of spoils us on not having to be so anal on the tune part. Also not sure yet I just did this to my chain is Hot wax. Sounds like its a lot less time consuming to clean after the initial stripping of the chain and the chain runs quieter and lasts longer. Time will tell on this though first run at doing this. Keep up the good videos

Two bikes are better than one if you can afford it. I don't even try to fix my bike anymore because I usually make it worse. My local bike shop loves me.

Definitely check your spokes, like before every ride. Especially if you are a heavier rider. Even out of the box the spokes can be loose or loosen up over time. It is very difficult finding a good wheel truing shop in some locations but critical component.

Outstanding video, Jon! Very informative - excellent demonstration of basic inspection of the major components. I need to do this more frequently, and I need to start doing my own maintenance …. 👏👏👏

@@jonmaloneycycling7593 Thanks! I'm always confused by right side and left side. I'd like to be explained that the right side is the drive side and the left side is the non-drive side. From there what direction do you turn your wrench to remove pedals: clockwise or counter clockwise.

Hi Jon, I'm currently building up a 2022 Madone SLR right now. I'm not sure if you've covered it, but what are your thoughts on the isospeed issue associated with this frame? I've come across a few threads where a specific red loctite was recommended. Not sure if you've covered this before, but If possible, I would like your input. I know you previously had a Madone, sold it and then bought another. So I was wondering if this was ever a concern for you.
