I drive an hour to Cincinnati to work everyday and listen to talk radio the whole way. I got one of these and for the first 15 mins of my drive it was static on my station. After that, Crystal clear. Ended up putting the stock one back on. So there's definitely a difference if you get far enough away.

If you live where there are hills/ lots of trees or especially mountains, your reception will fade in and out. Other than that you're good.

I didn't notice any drops in reception in my hometown, but when I took a road trip I noticed the reception got very dodgy .. I tend to stream music through my phone anyways so I don't utilize the radio feature too often
