Wish I knew of the 1 hour Lock tight wait before I installed it ! Glue and patience and wa laah ! Works well. If I had a suggestion, it would be to add a spring so it would actually assist in ‘RAISING the tail gate : )

Why do you use the thread locker on the allen bold, wouldn't you use it on the ball bolt?

Yes I don’t know why you are putting thread lock on a bolt that’s being removed and replaced with another?

You lock the threads of the Alien bolt to the expanding part that goes inside the tailgate. You need it to not spin, the nut you tighten 9 complete revolutions is actually turning on the bolt, which is basically moving the bolt back out, and since its locked on the inside threads in the tailgate, it causes it to deform and expand on the inside, securing it to the tailgate. After the 9 turns, you remove the Allen bolt as it has done it's jib and you can now install the other bolt with the other plate with the nib on it.

Only problem on a superduty the strut hits the bracket when closing the tailgate. I don't see it lasting very long.

19 Ram1500 'Classic' 5.7L 4x4 Crew Cab. Installed No Prob.👍 Just make sure that nutsert is set right, had to do like 15 turns. Don't put cable cap on, gets in way

Sorry but this worked great for about 6 months after install. One year later and the pin attached to the tailgate is completely rusted! Sorry but it never should have rusted that fast.
