Best advice I've heard on mounting transducers. Didn't even know those boards existed.

In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzbin.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

Great Idea. Then you eliminate the number of holes through the Transom. The same with an Aluminum Boat. Thanks Again Guys for another Great Video. 👍👍👏👏

I am doing this in about two weeks for the first time. I would like to use an underwater grade silicone that will work for HDPE board more commonly called Starboard. Can’t seem to come up with the exact recommendation . What brand and type have you had the best results with in the installation that you have done or know about ? I see you’re using Sudbury Elastomeric marine Sealant.

Nice video, would love to see one on installing Panoptix

I am curious why we do not see this on fiberglass boats? Seems it would save a lot holes in the transom?

Could you explain more about rivet lines and where and why to line it up
@jimjamfishandcook2 жыл бұрын
You want to mount in between the rivet lines. The transducer should be in front of a smooth part of the hull

You mentioned something that has kept me confused all this time and it is the different criteria for mounting high speed skimmers and side imaging transducers. I am having trouble getting reading with the SI and DI and from a totalscan transducer from lowrance. Your opinion, should the transducer be level with the bottom of the boat or level when the boat travels at 1-5 mph where the bow travels higher than the transom. Also should the transducer be installed somewhat below, level or slightly above the bottom of the boat?

My transducer mount plate 12” X 3.5” x 0.75” “boat zone” that I got from Amazon didn’t come with instructions on what drill bit to use to drill into the aluminum. I’ve heard 9/64”, is that correct? I wanna make sure it’s the right size.

Is there a reason you don’t use rubber well nuts instead of screws?
@tuckerdesfosses35182 жыл бұрын
I just purchased a lowrance HDS 9 carbon which has the 3 in 1 transducer. I currently have a lowrance hook 7 already mounted on the transom on a mounting board. Would the two transducers side by side on the same mounting board cause interference?

What’s that rubber trim piece protecting the skeg of the motor? Is that custom made ?
@Wired2Fish3 жыл бұрын
That's just a piece of rubber hosing still on the engine "as shipped" from Mercury. The boat hadn't been in the water yet at the time of this filming.

Nice video. BUT! DO NOT! use a drill while installing your screws people. Very easy to overshoot it. Use a screwdriver
