Very good video. I was having some issues until I watched your video. The only thing not mentioned in your video is that you have to hold the off and high speed button at the same time on the remote for 4 seconds so the remote will be paired with the fan.

It is depended on the manufacture instructions, different remotes have different sync time . In short,you should always read the manufacture instructions. Thank You for the comments.

What about the bare copper wire coming from the ceiling and the blue/yellow stripped from the hanging bracket and the fan pole? Do they all connect together as ground? Thanks

Yes, the bare copper is the ground and it need to be connected to the blue/ yellow stripped. All the ground must be connected together.

Does this model all have the Blue-tooth capability? So if you had two lights switches in the past to control the fan and light separately you no longer need the 2nd switch. Correct? Do you think If I had more than one fan connect to the light it would control both fans with one remote?

I think some remotes have blue tooth capability, this one not. You can connect another fan to the light and it will work but only one speed. The light can handle 300W so you are good to go.

How did you set the fan speed to high without having the electricity on?

It is probably not needed . When you buy the remote read carefully the instructions. Some fans can be set to the highest speed without electricity, I am not sure if the fan in this video has this feature.

I have a double switch on the wall and an extra red wire coming from my ceiling. Am I going to just cap that?

Yes you should cap the extra red wire.

No you don't unless you want to secure the remote to the switch the way I did otherwise, you will need to secure the remote to the wall. If I were you I will change it because it very simple and not expensive and at the same time you can secure the remote to the switch.

Joseph K Yes. There’s a light in the fan. And no, I can’t set the fan speed. The remote that was used is no longer usable. The switch on the wall only makes the light go on. It’s an old fan, so I’m wondering if the motor is dead.

You fan is probably one speed fan with internal switch to turn the fan ON/OFF or it is an old fan (not a standard one) that can be controlled with a special remote (if this fan has an internal receiver). The Hunter 99122 as well as other ceiling fan remote control need 2 wires to come from the fan, one for the motor and one for the light. If your fan is a one speed fan you can use one of the receiver wire like the blue wire to connect the black of the fan while the receiver yellow wire is insulated (with twist-on wire connector ). If you fan had a unique remote to control the fan speed you will not be able to use this 99122 remote. I believe the best solution to replace the fan otherwise you will need to contact the manufacture for further information.
