Great video Allen. When you say make sure the arrow is in the ‘right direction’ I’m guessing the right direction is the direction of water in the pipe?

Hi Alan , thought I would just mention that if you are replacing the old type plastic TF1 with one of these omega units you can use the original valves with the red handles so it makes for an easy swop , I do a lot these and just replace the old rubber washers and your good to go......👍
@AllenHart9996 жыл бұрын
yensabi That is the reason they were designed like that. Thanks for sharing.

Was trying to do that on a mag tek plastic one but different nut size sadly so had to alter it all. On the sample fitting the arrow is facing down oops.

Hi Allen, love the videos, informational for diy people like me and gives you an understanding of what’s involved when trades/professionals are needed. If you install an Omega filter without the isolator valves, how do you clean it out regularly without fully draining a system boiler? 🧐👍
@westpaul582 жыл бұрын
Hi Allen, like the video. Hope you be able to help me. British Gas fitted an omega, with no valves when they replaced the boiler. However they didn't explain the filter or leave any instructions. The filter is fitted tight to the ceiling and needs to be rotated to remove the magnet etc. My question is, can I loosen the large collar nut to rotate the filter as there doesn't appear a way of stopping the water. Plus how do I loosen the nut if it has been nipped tight? Thanking you in advance, Paul

Hi Allen, I have recently found your channel and enjoying your videos. I have a TF1 which has often been problematic, I recently changed all the seals/washers and today noticed the drain tap was dripping. At this point i'm thinking about replacing with an TF1 Omega. Can you tell me if I purchase the cheaper one without valves if it will fit between the isolation valves already fitted for the older black plastic TF1? Many thanks and keep up the good work!
@AllenHart9993 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately you need to buy the one with the valves. Thanks

Thank you so much for all the helpful videos. You explain so much better than the instruction booklet. By the way, the model with valves, the pipe section needs to be cut out is about 195mm is that about right?
@TarasP1335 жыл бұрын
hi , im measuring as well 195mm, did you fit the filter with valves at the end?
@digwa2 жыл бұрын
British Gas said this TF1 Omega Filter (no valves) can be installed on the flow pipe. Is this true and if so does the arrow need to point upwards when installed onto the flow pipe?

Hi Allen, again, just been thinking, I am going to get one of these filters, regarding adding chemicals in future once it's installed. I know you can inject the chemical treatments via the attachment. But is it possible if have the valves installed to close them off after rinsing the filter out ,then adding chemicals in via the top where the magnet is? Then open the valves and turn boiler on to get it in the system? Cheers again Allen for any advice
@martinmahoney33124 жыл бұрын
you do not add chemicals via the top, the magnet is in a dry pocket!!

Hi Allen i noticed you should the installation without valves a 70mm pipe cut out. What is the length of pipe that needs to be cut out with the Fernox TF1 Omega filter with Valves
@AllenHart9996 жыл бұрын

Hi Alan, -- what tool you use to undo the big round nut when you need to remove the filter? The nut is huge.

Does that radiator drain down point start coming out as soon as you open the key and have to get the hose on? Ones I have are a Tee off and have a slotted screw on the top so you can connect the hose before it's opened.

Hi Allen looking on the BES site. They sell a CURA filter. Constructed of brass. To which Omega power flush adaptors fit. British made, and less than, 1/2 the price, of the Omega Wondering if they come out of the same factory. And as anyone fitted these filters?

Hi allen, nice vid, can the slip socket go at the top or bottom??
@AllenHart9996 жыл бұрын
it needs to go the correct way for the flow if that makes sense, see the arrow. so no it cannot just go either way. Thanks for watching please give our video a like.

Great video! I need to replace mine, having major leaking problem :-( Looks very simple to do...but I have a question, this is what I currently have with exactly the same problem. I already have the valves...can I just swap it out for a fernox tf1 filter? the gap in pipes the same size? Looking at the parts on the website it looked like the top part of the pipe is flat, although not so in your video...so am a little bit worried of a compatibility issue? kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZOaeXZojJVmeLs

You have not mentioned there is a metal “cage” inside the filter that if not located on the diameter of the rotating ring you removed it will not work. The cage must be located on the rotating ring. To be honest there is absolutely no reason to totally remove that ring. No access is ever needed and if you do remove it the cage will just be free to drop to the bottom of the filter. Good instruction otherwise 👍
