Just bought a 9.9 Yamaha for a kicker and have the same bracket, not installed yet. I think maybe that bracket is set too low? The prop should be out of the water when the motor is raised or it will make a lot of splashing when you are going at a decent speed with the main, i think, Also I think you only need the cavitation plate just below the bottom of the boat when down. As the bottom of the boat isn't as deep towards the side, the kicker prop doesn't need to be as deep as the main motor. I'm no expert but those are my thoughts.

I have the same bracket, yours looks way too low on the transom. can you still tilt the motor out of the water? looks like it will hit the 6hp cowling will hit the transom. Maybe better with the right shaft length say 20 or 25.

I have already tested it offshore and it works perfect. As well on the bottom part of the bracket the bolts are at the very top section. I don’t tilt the motor up or down I just use the bracket to lift the motor in and out of the water. Works fine and just as easy. Only thing that matters to me is that it works.
