Great video and perfect for my needs! Almost identical set up in my front yard and the added written instructions for the 'never done it before' crowd on the wiring was a great added touch.

Thank you.,. I'm glad I was able to help. I live in an HOA and my videos are generally geared around questions that the resident's ask. Usually it's Grass stuff, solar lights, lampost etc.

@@lawnjenkins I followed your video to a T, had.my daughter hold the lamp. I've got a large hand so had to use a screw driver to push the sensor into the hole. I put a flame 🔥 bulb in and it looks great. Thanks again for a great video and I followed up with a subscribe.

Nicely done. We moved into a new house that the front yard light was on 24/7. I bought the photocell and after watching your video once, it was a piece of cake. Not hard at all, but when you have never taken one of these apart before, seeing it before trying i helps a ton!

I really appreciate it. Thank you for watching. I am on an HOA board in my community and I tell my neighbors to share my page because I try to post videos that I have been asked in our HOA meetings as much as possible. A lot of these videos will help any person though not just HOA folks.

Excellent video‚especially the explanation which wires attach to which. Most people do not put this much work or detail into their videos (one guy literally had "call an electrician" as one of his steps). Thanks for the explanation. I'll be doing this tomorrow.

How would I replace the photocell if there is not a way to remove the top of the post. Is there something that can clean the photocell lense?
@lawnjenkins Жыл бұрын
I haven't see a post like that but maybe your photo cell can be screwed out enough to reach the wires.

hey what kind of wire we can use to connect this lights, and how to connect multiple post lamp
@lawnjenkins2 жыл бұрын
I believe I have 12 gage UF romex. but I would CERTAINLY reccommend that you find an electrician if you ar hooking one up and trying to connect them.

So is simple? Turn the breaker off, black wires go together,red as well and white as well?
@lawnjenkins Жыл бұрын
Yes - it's not difficult at all. Just make sure the breaker is off.,., Now I'm not a licensed electrician so I can't tell to just go ahead and do this without worry. If you try it it will be your decision but I myself have done this many times. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. Thank you.

@@lawnjenkins Thank you!!!! I actually did it earlier and I connected everything the way it was I knew the light was bad so I didn’t had to change the sensor but is dark now and the new light is shining and I’m actually proud of it, I do little projects around the house when is a big one I hire a contractor but I’m just like you I watch videos and go for it!! 👍🏻🙏🏻

@@amitchell4206 yeah that's the best way. I have work NUMEROUS home rehab jobs and just learned as I went. Also, youtube is GREAT for getting that video on the one piece you may not know. 😂

Best if you have a 5 ft stepladder and set it next to the post and lay the light on it. Then disconnect each sensor wire one by one and reconnect the new one one by one. Then remove the old sensor and put the new one into the hole. With the wires already connected you cannot accidentally drop it down the inside of the pole.
@lawnjenkins Жыл бұрын
Yep that is a step ladder but I could only get it so close because of all the mature shrubs next to the post and the wires on the light would not reach to lay on the ladder anyway because the original wires were sooooo short 🙂🙂. also at 2:45 of the video I tell people how to not drop it down in the post by using a string tied to the photo sensor. Using a string is what I found works best. Great points though.

My lamp only has the one ground wire coming from the fixture, but no ground wire coming from the post. any recommendations? My light randomly went out the other month and i replaced the sensor today but it still did not come on tonight. thanks
@lawnjenkins2 жыл бұрын
If you have romex wiring, it has a protective sheath. Sometimes a wire could be pushed down into the sheath where you can't see it. If I were In your particular situation I would get an electrician to look at it because it sounds like you may have two or three different things going on. It won't be expensive to get a pro to find out the real issue.
