Hi Peter! Thank you for your insightful video. I am thinking about installing H&R front and rear sway bars on my S3 but I am not sure if its worth it to do both. Is the rear enough to cancel much of the understeer? What would be the benefit of changing both? My mechanic says if I change the rear I should also change the front to have a more stable car... I'm not convinced. Thank you and keep up with the awesome content!

Hello EDMC and thank you for the support!. Most AWD Audis will understeer as that's the nature of the brand. What I would recommend that you do, is ONLY change out to a larger RSB. You'll noticed at faster speeds, the back end will turn in quicker, thus, less understeer. It will also feel more stable in cloverleaf turns. At slower speeds though, you will not notice much of a difference.

OK so the best way to go with the 4 HR spring..I would like to know if the H&R spring ride better..thanks again

Clive, if you have the budget, go with a coilover setup like the H&Rs, Koni, Bilstein, or KW. All this coilovers use a progressive spring and will provide an exceptional ride quality. If you simply want to run the H&R springs, the ride will be stiffer, but this *may* not address the overall look of the car being lower in the back and higher in the front.

The only video so far that I've seen done right with compressing the suspension. How much pre load on the wheels is sufficient? I'm thinking 1 1/2 -2 inches?

Before, I never thought of compressing the shocks but after watching a few other videos, became a firm believer. 1in IMHO, is sufficient.

Hi Peter..I have a question for you..my s3 ..the rear of the car is a little bit lowe. And the front is high..can I just use one set of HR spring at the front . Because I it look level..thanks

Hi Clive, I understand what you want to accomplish, but I would not go that route. Why? Because you'll have two completely different springs that will not work well together.

I upgraded to a 034 RSB and Whiteline end links within the first few weeks of getting my 2018 S3. Took much of the understeer out of the stock setup.

Robert LeBlanc I could not feel a difference at slow speeds, but push the car and it performs excellent!

I’m not sure what year S3 you have but my 2015 has the auto levelers on both sides. Also, my endlinks cannot be removed. There is no triple square to hold to remove it. You have to replace the endlinks if you install an aftermarket swaybar.

notthatuy12, that's interesting! I do recall my S3 having dual levelers but also remember needed a triple square to disconnect the end links. That's strange that you're does not have it.

Hello, Peter. How do you like the sway bar? What should I do first between the sway bar or coils? Btw, how do you like your Bilstein?
@TheAutomotiveFanatic5 жыл бұрын
Hello Arturo, go with coils first. Not only will your S3 look more visually appealing, it will handle better due to the lower center of gravity. Shortly after, you can add the RSB as it's cheaper and easier to install. Now iff you have the funds, do both at the same time to save on installation cost and time. Regarding the PSS10s IMHO, they are a fantastic coilover. They provide an exceptional ride quality due to the progressive rated springs, but will greatly improve your handling when pushed!

Hey if you do sway bar should do links as same time as they are Plastic links
@TheAutomotiveFanatic4 жыл бұрын
I would highly agree! It's easy to swap them out since you have the RSB off already.
