For the mounting bracket a dab of epoxy would be the way to go particular if your not fancy . Great info on wiring here

The connector I used has a metal sleeve that pierces the insulation and makes contact with the wire inside.

i believe your green tach wire u spliced too is under the drivers seat for mechanics too have easy access when people take them in.

My 86 f250 is a factory auto with a factory tach,hell in our van most often times I use the tach to judge my speed since the speedo sticks sometimes and the needle is broken off most of the way. LOL.

I never used a tachometer to shift with a manual transmission... Just listen to the engine... but a tachometer is nice to have even on an automatic so you can see changes with the engine...

fyi they have positive wire connectors for fuse blocks that replace the fuse and have a slot for the fuse you just pulled. piggyback link.

I notice the orange tachometer "bug" was set at 4,000 RPM. I'll presume that's red line? Was that preset, or did you set it there? If you set it there, how did you know to set it at that exact point? Do you know that to be the car's red line point? I'll presume that can be moved, depending upon what type of car you are installing it in? Thanks for the video and good job with the install.

I was actually thinking of the red line which signifies the RPM's "never to exceed"... that continue high across the maximum range of the gauge. If Zephmont meant a "tick point" or adjustable "bug" that signifies the ideal shift point, then we were probably talking about two different things.

Its a scotch lock, better to solder thought, those get rusty and lose connection.
