OLD Leather Smith here, very nice David, i am happy there is some one like you now 4 the beginners. I had 2 learn the hard way trial and error. The only difference 4, me is I hand sew EVERYTHING. I have a machine but never used it. GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃

@DanielReach-TheLeatherVerse Well keep at it I've managed to get to good two fists and a half from the bottom of my chin so I'm more Gandalf the Grey (well white) than Ragnar. But it is working well for you pal. Having to perform a full detail on it after eating is a pain in the arse but you get used to it. Daniel, you are a gentleman sir and I honestly can't thank you enough for sharing your fantastic skill and artwork with us. I am serious when I said about your shoes being my library and I will be coming back to it as I hopefully progress and grow my skills. And remember in years to come people will look at these shows saying, that Viking guy is pretty good, I think weed to be visiting this Weaver leather place for materials and follow him for tutorials. Take care, buddy.

@@2rueblue Thank you my friend. I honestly don't know what to say to that kind of encouragement. The blessing of being able to do this full time, and for a company as amazing as Weaver is something I don't take for granted. Hopefully the Lord allows me to do it for the rest of my life.

Another great video out at the perfect time in my opinion! Off topic question though. I am going to be making a bracelet with a “raised edge” around the outside of basketweave stamping. How can i stamp without ruining the raised edge? Part of some of the vertical stamps are going to be hanging on the middle of the stamp, putting half on the intended area and half on the raised edge. I can send you a design example if this doesnt make sense.

Good video, really enjoyed it. I liked the kit bashing idea. As a bloke, I’d happily take a club bag full of tools out. Sorry if I missed it (was making lunch, having missed breakfast), an explanation of the common zipper sizes took me ages to figure out. The number (#) is roughly zipper teeth width in mm when closed. I like a #7 for bags (chunky) and #3 shorts and #5 for jeans.

Hermes use top and bottom zipper stops as it’s another place to add branding. These days I order pre-made zippers (made to order) as the 50 pence extra that I’m paying per unit saves me about £5.00 of my time.

Absolutely! Just mark your stitch line and punch your holes the same way you would when sewing two layers of leather together!

I take it you have to own a $1500.00 dollar leather sewing machine. I noticed the slow stitch foot and it sits up high no table and it has arm? I need you to do a zipper insert on leather. I have a Bernina 2000 embroidery machine😊
