Clear, brilliant instructional video guys. Gave me the confidence to dissemble parts I would be too nervous to do otherwise. Have done 6k miles in 6 months, so the K&N filter has made a noticeable difference. Smoother and more responsible throttle.

Just wanted to say, you can replace the air filter without pulling the tank, all I did was remove the 4 torx holding the rear tank bracket to the frame and pulled the left breather hose and was able to lift the tank up to get the job done.
@roadchildx Жыл бұрын
left and right as well? I see there are two breathers on the tank
@robertdupuis2196 Жыл бұрын
can confirm, just did it
@DaMonsterMonster Жыл бұрын
@roadchildx I just pulled the one on the left, seems like it's just a touch too short to get the tank high enough
@lightthiscity49743 ай бұрын
I am about to attempt this and it's my first time doing it. At what time in this video do I stop what they are doing to be able to just lift the gas tank up and change the filter out? Just so I am not doing anything that's unnecessary.

Thanks for following up your last Trident video with this one.👍🏻. Just saw you remove the Positive on the battery first - it’s recommended to remove the Negative terminal first. I’m not sure why…but it’s in the Service Manual.

@@MotoViceOfficial If you've got a tool on the positive and touch anything metal, you're going to arc. Undo the negative first and it opens the circuit and less of a chance to weld a wrench to something :)

Okay I just want to say thanks to these guys for making this very useful and detailed video. I will say doing this by one’s self is I would say 6.5/10 hard. I was also doing it in the Florida rain under a tarp. So I’m sure if you have the right setting and patience the novice can easily do themselves and save $hundreds in labor fees.

Just did the DNA filter on my 660…couple of notes. This indeed can be (and was) a one man job. Secondly I did not have to disconnect the fuel line under the tank. Getting the air box screws out required my lifting and holding the tank while I unscrewed em. Hardest part was realigning the bolt on the front right hand side of the tank.

Man what id give for a larger tank on my trident! Just an extra gallon is all it needs!

@@MotoViceOfficial Ive just found out the hard way radiator mounts on this thing are of thin gauge metal. Frame sliders & radiator guard are very necessary on this bike.

A great video, very informative, thank you. Question - Is the fuel line self sealing or does the tank need to be drained?

Nope, the fuel nozzle is self sealing.

@Le0L0mas I think you're missing the point and I say this as a trident owner (as well as owning several other bikes). The point is it shouldn't take 3 hours to do something that would only take 15 minutes on any other bike.
