I am a ASE Master Tech / L1, L2 certified, with over 30 years of experience. This is an excellent video!!!! It should be known this is the V2 AOS. The newest V3 is similar but much better. V3 has banjo fittings for the coolant lines and spring clamps instead of zip ties for all the connections. There are many other differences. The full color detailed, step by step installation can be downloaded from the IAG website. I would still suggest watching this video to get a good general idea of what the process will be like. Again, EXCELLENT JOB!!

Just finished the install of this in my 2020 wrx sti and this video helped tremendously. It took me about 10 - 15 hours to complete over the course of 2 weekend days and 2 weekdays and I have about 0 car modding experience. I watched this video about 10 times and cross referenced it with the IAG AOS manual. Here's some observations that may help others: - When removing battery (easier access to driver side valve breather line), there's a plastic cap on the battery mount bracket. You can twist this off with a socket wrench - Lube up each hose/connection you can. Just like B&S says. Getting the intercooler on without oil is very, very difficult - Once tape is removed from the main electrical harness, it is still tough to move because of the kink. It will move. - Disconnecting some of the sensors on the breather lines was surprisingly difficult at first. You need to wiggle as you pull out. - You will bend some fins on the intercooler. Just accept it. - I have huge hands and did not need to remove anything with the air intake when connecting the aos passenger side valve breather line. It will hit the nipple at an angle, but with lube will slide right on and sit flush. - When working with zipties in tight spaces, make sure to align it so you can use needlenose pliers to tighten one click at a time. - I used all the tools B&S recommended except the zip tie cutter.

How was it putting the intercooler back in? I worked on it 10 hours yesterday got everything done except putting back the intercooler elbow coupler it refuses to go in completely and i think its because the hose thats under doesn’t allow it to. Any suggestions?

Fantastic video, brother - thanks!!! I was going to have mine installed by a local Subi shop, but it was going to cost me $676 for 4 hours of install time. Figured I could better use money like that on more parts. So, I bit the bullet and did the installation with my son. I would never have made it through the drain hose part without coming back to the video and seeing how you used the factory hoes/clamps. After 45 minutes of trying with the new host/clamps, I was able to get the stock hose/clamps on with no issue and keep moving on. Fantastic explanation throughout the video! I installed the V3, so I split my time between your video and IAG's and had it installed in 3 1/2 hours (and that's including all that time spent on that drain hose). All I can say is thanks!!! Your videos are excellent.

7 months, thats how long my AOS has been sitting in my garage. Last night I spent more than 6 hours doing this install. But it saved me hundreds in labor at a shop. It helped me solve major crank case pressure issues that put tones of oil in my intercooler/turbo but after driving this morning a HUGE difference in my fine knock and DAM readings. The PDFs are to ambiguous, this guide was priceless, THANK YOU!

As I look into the IAG V3 install guide, IAG kept both side short hose connected to breather ports (passenger & driver) with the white connectors. You wouldn't have to tape up the connectors on both sides as well. Just something that I noticed in the new guidebook.

I've had my IAG sitting in it's box for a few months now and part of the reason is that I was a little intimidated, and the tutorials online were not the best for 2018+ Sti's. Appreciate the in depth video for the install! I did notice that you didn’t add any of the heat sheaths for the lines that iag provided. Did yours not come included with them? Just curious as I’m an idiot and did the whole install and even got the top mount installed but forgot to add the thermal sheaths. Should I take it apart again just to add those layers to the lines? Just curious how detrimental it would be if I just keep it as is 😅

@@akqjtn I actually did have a motivation. They don't market the product to the Mazdaspeed crowd. Too small of a market I guess. But, Mazdaspeeds can use that also and I plan to get one and I figured I would watch your video just for a basic idea even though of course all the locations will be different. Mazdaspeeders usually use catch cans but I want an AOS. I fact, I have an AOS, the Crawford. But its nowhere near as good and I've outgrown it. I got the IEG V3 on order and I might need to change some of the hoses/brackets since I bought the WRK kit. I thought it was really cool how they were able to design a cable relocation bracket such that it completely looks like it could have come from the factory that way. Lucky that the cable has available slack to make that happen.
