I know this videos two years old. But you can buy a longer 43’ coolant line from IAG. So you don’t have to do a 1/2 to 1/2 connection. The way your doing it totally works just more connections mean more possible leaks and drive my OCD crazy. But thank you for the video currently going rotated on my subie.

Where did you move your ground to? I also need to delete my expansion but are you going to run AC because the hoses to the expansion valve run there to the fire wall.

Where do I route the turbo coolant line if I have a precision
@xelitex2 жыл бұрын
Grats nice video brother!! But i have a question i have a precision turbo with not cooling option . Where do i plug the cooling hose that should fit into the turbo in and out? Thanks in advance.
@DanielKellert2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! With a precision turbo you’re just gonna run a heater hose from the water pump hard pipe to the AOS, then from the AOS to the port on the back of the head! That way you’re still looping the system without having coolant flow through the turbo. :) hope that helps!
@xelitex2 жыл бұрын
@@DanielKellert so everything still the same as you have in the video but the hoses that goes into the turbo go into the waterpump hose as a “t” maybe?
@DanielKellert2 жыл бұрын
@@xelitex It’s literally the exact same setup, just without looping it through the turbo. Instead of going from water pump to AOS, to turbo, to head. Just go water pump to AOS, to head. You will just need to buy some 1/2in heater hose & 2 straight 1/2in to 1/2in barbed fittings.

@@DanielKellert hey brother! I tried do what you said but the guy who owned the engine before me. He caped it off thoses from aos and the hard fhoses from back of the engine. Now what can i do in this cases?
@PleadTheFifth_Racing3 жыл бұрын
Great video man. I did mine the same way but I'm curious what you did with the rear valve cover breather ports? I ended up using Baders technique and just T'd them together and ran them to the other PCV port on the block that the AOS was not using.
@DanielKellert3 жыл бұрын
That’s exactly what I do! Used the oem 3 T’d crossover hard pipe & run both valve cover breathers & the crank case breather all T’d together. All that does is equalize crank case pressure. 👍🏼
@PleadTheFifth_Racing3 жыл бұрын
@@DanielKellert Thanks for the response, and yea thats how I figured it worked. I took mine off the other day and there was a good bit of oil and water condensation in mine. If I let it sit for a couple days the oil actually starts to leech through the hose which is super weird. I might have to change to a better hose material.
@DanielKellert3 жыл бұрын
@@PleadTheFifth_Racing Same happened to me. Use actual heater hose & it won’t seep through!

Hey man awesome vids! I was curious if you have had any issues with the coolant setup? Also wanted to know if you got that threaded block off for the radiator and if you know what size that is cause I’m planning on doing the same and what did you find the best way to bleed your coolant system? Thanks
@DanielKellert3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I haven’t had any issues so far & have about 6k km on the build so far of absolute abuse. You can either bleed the coolant from the bleeder on the back of the IAG AOS, or you could jack up the front of the car to make the rad the highest point & bleed like normal. I didn’t get the threaded block off, I ended up just running a cap with a hose clamp!

What did you end up doing with expansion tank?

Deleted it! Looks 10x cleaner 🤙🏼
@alivaleev90523 жыл бұрын
Coolant line to turbo is not correct. On stock system coolant goes from head to turbo, from turbo to breather tank, from breather tank to radiator. It’s incorrect to use this hole in head as a drain, because it drains to breather, there will be zero flow on this line :-/ it will be aired all the time
@alivaleev90523 жыл бұрын
Coolant will try to get to this turbo/aos line from both sides
@DanielKellert2 жыл бұрын
How do you recommend plumbing/looping the system for the expansion tank delete? I thought that the back of the head was the drain for the turbo. If you are right then yes that would be coolant flow fighting against eachother. I’ve put about 10k on the car with no issues & coolant bled perfectly fine 🤔
@DanielKellert2 жыл бұрын
@@alivaleev9052 There’s only way it would make sense that this setup has been working so well for so many people. That coolant line off the water pump must be a return line 🤔….. maybe pumps out the one port through the engine, out the head, back through the turbo, through the aos, then loops back to the water pump inlet. It is a 3 port water pump on the 257, so one must feed the engine, one feeds the heater core, & one is a return possibly? I’ll have to do some more research on that.

Question, do you still have your pcv /evap system?
@DanielKellert2 жыл бұрын
When you install the competition series AOS, your PCV system vents to atmosphere. I also deleted all my evap components except for the charcoal canister. I just vent the line to atmosphere at the firewall.
