@@banana_bg5016 have you watched the video? Also, just know that you download the media creation tool. Once you download it, from the internet, you install the media creation tool, from your hard drive or SSD which creates the Windows 10 installation media with a thumb drive. Once you do that, you boot from your newly created media creation thumb drive that you installed from a file you downloaded from the internet, and you install windows 10 from the thumb drive.

Im really glad that you actually took out the motherboard and the power supply off its case just so that you can show it to us a little better. I know it is a hassle but it really helps a lot for newbs like me. Most other tech youtubers don't do this and it is really difficult to learn when they are zooming into the inside of their case with their hands and the darkness getting in the way.

Completely agree. I had forgotten that my SATA wasn't daisy chained like my power supply cord for SSDs so I completely forgot about the little ports on the side of my motherboard. Definitely helpful with formatting it as well since I had forgotten that too lol.

1:23 I wasnt given this cable to plug into my crucial ssd, my power supply comes with cable that have those l shaped but they're much wider than the one on my mother board is there like some type of extension cord to make the l shaped cable smaller?

Is it best to boot off an SSD? Does that mean windows need to be installed on the startup drive? I have heard during startup is much quicker with an SSD.

starting off a mechanical drive, an HDD can take 30 seconds or more, starting off of an SSD will take anywhere between 3 and 12seconds. Windows working is tons faster on an SSD as well.

Sadly I found out my copy of Win 10 was pirated (We had one built by someone but they didn't tell us it was pirated) so I had to buy a product key but I probably wouldn't have found out if you didn't help me, so thank you for that too. Now at least I'm not worried about the activation thing anymore ^^ Another question, I hope it's not too much bother and sorry if this is a silly question, but with the power supply cable, I can use any of those plugs along the wire to hook up to my ssd? The one at front of the sata power cable is being used by the hdd.

you dont, you can add another drive as you have the machine now, but having windows 10 on an SSD will improve overall performance of your machine. If you don't want to reinstall windows, just follow the portion where I mention disk manager, of course after you install the drive physically.

so, you don't want to do that, you want a clean OS and then you can install everything. Transferring your programs as they are, will introduce many issues you don't want happen. Now, moving stored files, you can have 2 drives in your machine, and keep your old drive as storage.

For the RAM, if you set XMP or DOCP you should be good, it will automatically set itself, you might have to play with it a little, but the defaults will be there. As a quick question, I bought an SSD and want to use it for just my OS while keep my other files (games, etc...) on my hdd. Currently I have windows 10 installed on my hdd but if I use this method to re-install it onto ssd will it keep all my other files and games on my hdd or erase them? if so how can I work around that. Installing Windows 10 on the SSD, will be a brand new drive, nothing on it except the windows you installed on it. If booting from the SSd, you can still access the files from the other drive (as long as it is connected) but the installs will not work, as the registry entries and files it may have installed will not be able to be interpreted by the other drive, so you will have to reinstall all the games and such but it is a great way to keep files you need to copy over. There are methods to make your steam, Origin, Epic, Rockstar, etc work on your new install, but it is a bit lengthy to describe here.

Just curious, after initially doing the process of installing windows 10 with the flash drive, when would be an applicable time to remove the flash drive from the tower? Or do I just keep it in?

IN the video, you will see a section where the installer reads, Finishing up, then you can click Restart now, on that restart you can remove it, but it shouldn't hurt it anyway if you left it plugged in, depending on your configuration in the BIOS.

Thanks my friend, so happy you like it, nothing gets deleted on this drive until you either delete a partition, format a drive or physically delete a file, at 4:25 I delete stuff. You transfer all your files, your photos, videos, documents, music, etc but you will have to reinstall your programs. Thank you for the tutorial. With this tutorial and very other similar youtube videos, I was able to add 16 more GB of ram to my computer (it was 8gb ram now it is 24 gb ram) and add a new SSD (60 dollar one from best buy). Made the SSD my boot OS (by cloning my HDD to my SDD) and the old HDD is now a back up storage drive. My computer is working super fast now. So fast... I don't like it??? I feel like my sweet 8 year old computer has been replaced by an impostor. I don't know my computer anymore. It even makes a different sound now. I can't think straight anymore. My search is done before I am done thinking... it mocks me because of how slow I am. Everything is done before me getting frustrated as to how slow everything is. I don't get to practice patience anymore... :( Okay, I am mostly kidding. I suppose I'd get used to the speeds! Side note, can I make my computer slower somehow?

Back in the day, there was an executable called slomo that actually would slow down your PC, it was back in the days of the 286, where is a game was designed for a 2mhz PC, with horrible onboard graphics, and then you got a 4mhz PC with slightly better graphics, it was too fast for the program, it would start and end, so they had to make it slower, crazy times, but I do miss them.

Hi i have a question: when choosing options from boot override (timestamp 9:15) it says UEFI: Built-in EFI Shell (and 3 other options without eufi (Windows boot manager, SATA3, SATA4)). when i choose the eufi option it doesnt show what's in your video. Other than that (what's probably something I did wrong) this video has everything I needed to install my new ssd, and I've never built a pc not even mine so thanks!

I do have one question - Is there any way to restore the boot option for the previous Windows, after deleting it in 12:20 of the video? I deleted the option and forgot there were some settings I'd like to access again, now I'm trying to find a way to boot up into the previous Windows again. EDIT: Solved the issue. Hi @ThisBytesForYou, I just completed my SSD installation. So I wanted to move my windows from my HDD to SSD and use my HDD for games and stuff that are less important. When I tried to format my HDD there was a partition called "EFI System Partition". I deleted it because I wanted a clean HDD but now I can't boot into my Windows as there is no EFI boot partition. Do you have any videos on this? If you've ever encountered this problem may I know what you did?

no, I dont have videos for that, your EFI partition is your windows boot manager. Boot to your windows 10 install media, chose repair and repair, you might be able to rebuild the BCD table.
