Where is the best place to buy these letters? Do I have to get them directly from the manufacturer?
@rammiq4 жыл бұрын
You can find emblems anywhere, Amazon, Autozone, O'Riely's, Walmart, etc. But if you want stock emblems you'd be best off going to the car manufacturer website!

@@rammiq hello I have a Acura TL as well. My TL came off and there’s a bunch of gunk stuck on the car. How do I get all the gunk off?
@Psilocy-ben3 жыл бұрын
I’d wouldn’t recommend tracing the tape with the letters. You can see the edge of the tape around the letters still. Cut the tape slightly smaller than the size of the letters to get cleaner lines.
@rammiq3 жыл бұрын
I agree! As long as the double sided tape is pressed properly on both sides it should work. But great recommendation! Thank you for sharing!

I find clear rtv a small bead on back of badge holds great, if ever removed it us like rubber easy to remove not damaging paint. If a bit of rtv oozes out it is clear so hides pretty well

This is like a full chemistry lab. Did the molecules in the paint come to equilibrium with the Isopropyl alcohol or was it an imbalanced equation?
@rammiq4 жыл бұрын
It is like Chemistry lab lol! Isopropyl alcohol is neutral in nature (pH Scale around 8). It is safe to use on car paint!

You can use 3m super adhesive glue though.. but it might be difficult to stick the emblems which have are hollow.. like the one you saw in video.: you need a double side tape for those kind of badges or letters..!

Double side tape vs glue, which one is better?
@rammiq3 жыл бұрын
If you had to chose, go with Double sided tape, I fear that glue with ruin the paint and drip all over. Making a mess and potentially falling off in a month or two due to severe weather, hot or cold.

Acetone(nail polish remover) and turpentine work better than alcohol imo
@rammiq3 жыл бұрын
You know I didn't even think about those options but that can 100% work as well! I use alcohol because I know it evaporats quickly and is safe on paint, technology, just about anything! But Acetone & turpentine work too! Thanks for sharing :)

Can I use different double sided tape.. not 2M brand? Thanks
@rammiq3 жыл бұрын
Any adhesive will work relatively fine. The only reason I chose 3M is to protect the paint underneath the letter, and to get a solid, uniform fit to adhere aggressively onto the car. I hope this gives good insight! Thanks for asking!
