im glad to see you are still responding to users. When i install my car mod and go to spawn the vehicle in game, nothing pops up. I tried replacing the comet and spawning it using the phone cheat code in TBOGT. The car model and textures open perfectly fine inside of OPENIV but not within the game. I'm just trying to play the game in a vanilla state with a couple car mod replacements to resemble what i drive irl to feel more immersed. I recently got the game running smooth as butter just using some command lines and nvidia control panel, no extra patches or assistances. A year ago i had downloaded car mods and they worked without issue.

It is likely that the size of the car is incredibly large (in terms of MB). But if you install the ZolikaPatch and enable the option where the game accepts any car without limiting or restricting the sizes on it (in terms of MB), then you can freely use those cars. I would caution/advise that you set a commandline of some sorts to counter any texture loss problems.

That is very much possible, but there's a certain way to doing it. When I have the chance, I'll produce a video on how to install add-on vehicles to the game. It heavily is differentiated from just replacing one of the current in-game cars. And thank you so much! I try to ensure that the videos are short, concise, but also detailed in making the user understands the video before proceeding to mod his or her game. And besides, I find pleasure in knowing that GTA IV continues to stay alive with all the fun in modding :)

So a few observations on my end...i installed a few cars, (in Grand Theft Auto Episodes from Liberty City. TBoGT) and I have experience modding GTAV. I replaced a couple cars and my game now has major render problems and the GTA effect is amplified 1000x. Either a million taxis interspersed with a police car or two or a million of whatever you're driving. It's driving me insane

It's a very common error with GTA 4, but what you need to do is install something called 'TrafficFlowR2' by G17 Media! Can be found on the LCPDFR website :)

Hey, Carter. Not every car mod will come with a handling line provided. Sometimes I often just Google up for any available handlines that are out on the internet :) And all you need to do with the trainer is just to install the files (from the zipped file set) into the directory, given that you don't install anything with ".docx" or ".pdf" as the file extension! I hope this helps you.

That's one reason, but it's also because it ends up being the most simplest method as opposed to any other. Adding vehicles are certainly not difficult, but they typically can be challenging for those who are especially new to modding. I hope to make a video soon unveiling the method on how to install add-on vehicles.

Wierd thing: I downloaded a Mitsubishi Fuso tow truck that replaces the mule (I didn't have to rename the file, pretty handy) but also, the only files included in the RAR were the wft and wtd files, a text file that only has instructions, and a .png file. I'm not complaining though, the mod works great, and so does your video. So far I've replaced 2 cars, and both work flawlessly. Thanks man.

So the “ACR” verbiage is specifically there in my video because the Dodge Viper is an actual model codenamed with “ACR”. That’s why it’s like that. But the formatting is the same for most vehicle data provided, given that the name is different. Your vehicle data might say “CIVIC” or “BLISTA” if it’s like a Honda for example. And sometimes when developers put out vehicle data, the spacing isn’t always equidistant. Sometimes the spacing is irregularly adjusted.

Sorry for the late reply - so this has to do with administrative rights to your GTA IV folder, to which you (as the user) seems to have none. Simply take your GTA IV folder and move it to some place like "My Documents", try it then :)

It is likely that the car mod is way too overpowered for your game to handle. But to mitigate it, you can always exercise two options simultaneously: (a) get a command line in the game that has no memory restrictions, and (b) install ZolikaPatch to overcome the issue.

To my understanding, ZolikaPatch should fix this! There’s an option in the configuration file that you can enable to increase the texture limit for vehicles and etc. Try that! If not, then make sure that the cars you’re downloading aren’t excessive in size (like file size).

Are you saying that only the car mod showed up in the in-game traffic? Download and install Simple Traffic Loader (does require an ASI loader). This should remedy that problem for you.

This is for the retail copy, which I own and have. You can actually buy a disc version from Amazon and believe me... it makes life 10x easier without a Steam copy. However, this method works on Steam WHEN downgraded properly (may have to look up a tutorial to do that) -- the retail copy requires no downgrade.

That all depends. Are you trying to change the sound of the car to something else that's in the game, or are you trying to add sounds into the game?

This is true sometimes, only for some cars though. You have to remember that some cars aren’t exactly rigged correctly with certain vanilla car’s handling. So sometimes certain cars require certain additional steps. But sometimes you can end up really lucky with certain cars and not have to go through all the extra steps.

You can certainly add new cars! It’s just a completely different process, however. You’d need to add their handling.dat and vehicles.ide lines, and optionally carcols to have different colors set :)

You’ll want to install the Simple Traffic Loader mod into the game. This helps eliminate the multiple taxis from spawning in. I believe FusionFix should do something very similar, in a sense.

It does absolutely work with any type of vehicle model, especially if the original vehicle (vanilla) was a 4-door (let's say) SUV. However, , it would be wise to replace a sedan/sports vehicle with another sedan/sports vehicle, which makes it easier on you. It's highly recommended to install vehicle data so you can gain the best experience from it. Having a two-seater Ferrari installed without the vehicle data can certainly make the experience sluggish and not so 'game-changing' if you will. It's not easy getting these types of data files in, but you get used to it after some time. I hope that explanation helps.

@@NotAJ its a application that looks like a star or smthg, it was covering all the vehicle.ide, handling.dat, etc files. I managed to get around it with notepad tho. Thanks for the installation guide :)
