I noticed underneath somewhere on your car it says SH3. that's the middle part of most of the part numbers for most 88-91 Civic/CRX parts. For example the trailing arm bushings are 52385-SH3-000. If it were a 92-95 Civic it would be SR3. or if it were a 96-00 it would be S04. But as I'm sure you know they're the same part physically. And that goes for the compensator arms you're replacing as well as tie rods,rack ends and upper and lower ball joints. Wishbone Era Civics.

Britton Wright very nice info! Glad Honda was smart about their design and part #'s!
@brittonwritespoetry7 жыл бұрын
Jon Widmer definately. They along with Toyota and Nissan have a very logical part numbering system so you can trace and make sense of their catalog history. I always saw adjustable toe arms but I never knew what factory part they replaced and thanks to your video now I know.

Garage Built Hondas,the 2000 Civic doesn't have long black bar (00:22 covered by two bolts) and most of the time the compensator arm bolts are fused/rusted that they snapped. What year is your model that you were lucky to remove the bolt without having to do major work of cutting a hole?

Great Video! How loud are the spherical bushings? I'm contemplating doing this on my 99 GSR. It's not a daily, just weekend spirited drives and track events. What are your thoughts Jon? Thanks -Chad
@GarageBuiltHondas8 жыл бұрын
My opinion may not be the greatest because this car is loud and stiff to begin with. But I didn't notice any change in noise when going to all spherical. I would definitely suggest it, especially on a non-daily driver. No binding, and precise adjustments are great!
@mrsemifixit2 жыл бұрын
Curious why you installed these? Were you having issues getting toe aligned with stock ones?
@GarageBuiltHondas2 жыл бұрын
I was not. This is a car I was using to do some local road racing. I just wanted the spherical aspect of the arms. I didn't need the extra adjustability.
