Question ,did you used the same shocks? Or needed shorter ones
@DadModsMedia8 ай бұрын
I am currently using the same shocks as it originally had before lowering. When I eventually go to a 2 link setup I will be relocating the shocks entirely.

YO! DAD !! just found your Chanel i found it just now, i have a few shoe boxes and this time i rather go lowering blocks i had an air bagged one before, but , that shit gets tiring of so much maintenance!

Haha yeah there's nothing simpler than a nice static dropped car. You basically install the drop, align and forget about it haha. Thank you so much for watching the video, glad you're enjoying it!

Looks like your lowering blocks are equal height on both ends. Mine came with a slight taper for pinion angle. Tip for tapered blocks: the narrower, tapered end goes facing the rear. I initially installed mine the wrong way and the ride was pretty rough. Couldn't figure out why. So much smoother once corrected.
@DadModsMedia2 жыл бұрын
Yeah these blocks lack any pinion angle adjustment in them. If I find the pinion angle is way out of spec I'll be adding a shim to compensate. Where were you able to purchase taper blocks for a 2" wide leaf pack?
@sickpunch12 жыл бұрын
@@DadModsMedia i used Belltech blocks. But don't remember the part number. I have a bad habit of throwing the box away.

😆 no worries. I'll see what the final pinion angles are and see what I can do to correct mine. Thanks man

You can also use 1951 shoebox shackles and it will lower it as well

Nice! Thanks for the info man! How much does it lower it?

It's been awhile but I believe it's one more inch. I've heard some people say they had issues with the leaf spring hitting the frame when they do this setup but I've never had any problems with mine.
@DadModsMedia2 жыл бұрын
I'm assuming the people who have issues with the leaf spring hitting the frame have either sagging springs or springs pulled. More arc in the springs means the eyes are closer together, spring sag means the eyes are pushed out further. So I could see the spring hitting in that situation.

@@DadModsMedia yeah man me too lol. I can't remember but did you have 4" lowering Springs on your car already and then add those blocks to them? I only ask because I see the reversed eye. If the lowering springs I'm putting in don't lower the back end enough, I'm going to need to run blocks as well. I just don't want to run into the same issue I had and not be able to get the rear tire off
