How to Install NEXUS MODS in Baldur's Gate 3 BG3MM

Honestly late comment but I’m so thankful for specifically you as a creator; I love baldurs gate 3 so much and I’ve been following you and your content for quite a while. Your videos are amazing! I learned how to mod in the summertime, but unfortunately patch 7 kind of broke all my mods on vortex and I couldn’t figure out at all what exactly was wrong and how to fix it. I’ve been super bummed about it and kind of stopped playing since. Im a pre-med student and really busy with a lot of coursework; because of that i haven’t really had the time to figure out what was wrong cause I’ve been busy everyday with work and school. I’m recently caught up on a break for once however and I’m deciding to try again cause I really want to play it! I’m just gonna delete all my vortex mods and start all over with this guide! I can’t thank you enough king 💕

Thank you for the super thanks! I’m glad you found this useful. The BG3MM is much easier than vortex, and there won’t be a patch that breaks your mods again thankfully. So use whatever you find interesting! Just make sure it’s updated for Patch 7! Most cosmetics / armors are fine but class mods usually need to be updated. Best of luck with med school!

I was trying to add 5e spells but it says I don’t have bg3 script extender but I have it on my bg3/bin how it tells me but still says I don’t have it

Is there a way to download collections through vortex and transfer them to the BG3MM?

Will all my mods need to live in my downloads folder? Or does dragging them into BG3MM copy them into the mod file path, meaning I can clear my downloads folder after a mod setup session?

you mentioned being able to use nexus mods alongside the in-game mod manager mods? i'm wondering how to go about safely choosing which mods to do in-game and which mods to do on the nexus. I want to do both because some mods are just simply not available in-game so i'd like to use both to have "the best of both worlds". Do you have any tips or pointers?

Honestly just test them in batches of 3-4 and you’ll probably be good. Some mods override others like subclasses and such but that’s each to uninstall them

Arranging more than 100 mods is hell. Got some class icons to appear finally but others are still missing. Thanks for this. I can tweak things to hopefully be better now. Also why DirectX over Vulkan?

Oh yeah it’s tricky, I got up to 200 today but I cut back some hahaha. DirectX 11 always has worked best for me personally!

I was looking at the transmog mod, but it requires a script extender, is the script extender just one you extract into the bin folder and everything will just work?

Does it matter that I use winrar to extract my mods into the mod manger or it doesn’t matter? And does this interfere with the mods I have installed into the game using the in game mods

Doesn’t matter what you use to extract! And it’ll work alongside the ingame mod manager!

They work together well, but if you want nexus mods you have to use the external one

You have to have the same mods installed for both players!

have an issue where when the dice roll show up, i just get a black dice and cant click on it , my game stuck there any idea how to fix it ? tried it both with normal bg3 mod manager and with the vortex manager as well

Hmmm do you have dice mods? Can you change the dice skin? This is why I stopped using Vortex, it causes way too many issues with BG3

Nexus mods can’t be installed on the in-game mod manager unfortunately. But this one is pretty straight forward and easy to use, and it works alongside the in-game mod manager
