Pros And Cons Of A Oil Catch Can
Pros:
• Using an oil catch can prevent the oily gases caused by blow-by from contaminating the car's cylinder, improving the operating system and effectiveness.
• An oil catch can prevent the guns from settling on the turbo's cold side and inside the intercooler. It helps to maintain a steady running of a turbo that uses an exhaust gas circulation.
• Oil catch tanks can be used in both turbocharged and direct fuel-injected engines to improve function.
• It can significantly improve performance by retaining residual oil and preserving the intake manifold and valve from pollution.
• Oil catch cans help your engine last a long time. Furthermore, it ensures that your engines function optimally, even as they age.
• An oil catch can help you save money on gas.
• Oil and air are blown back into the intake manifold using a reverse PVC approach when separated. Carbon-forming dirt builds up in the intake manifold and valve. Oil catch cans prevent deposit build-up.
Cons:
• There are several advantages of using a catch can, but here are a few demerits you should be aware of.
• An oil catch is installed on the PVC system's interface. As a result, the guarantee on the engine is no longer valid.
• It prevents your vehicle from detecting smog so it is outlawed in several areas.

Another way you can do this and conserve room is to run it to the exhaust and through the venturi effect it’ll suck it right out and burn it.

Hey bro, by any chance you know the size of the tube that runs under the left air box? Did you need to use like an adapter from that size to your hose or how did you connect the 2? My catch can hose is 3/8”, so I’m guessing I’ll need like a 3/8” to whatever size the other tube fitting so I can connect it. Thanks in advance.

I used a 10AN hose and 10AN 90 degree angle fitting, I also used the 10AN straight fitting for the catch can

Yo wassup bro, hope your doing great. I’ve spend probably the past hour and a half trying to take the turbo inlet off the pipe that runs under the air box. I can’t find out how to take it out to put the hose on it. Did you just cut it off it is there a way to take it off?

That part has to bolts that you can remove and once you remove the bolts you pull it off towards your body, then it should be alil easier for you to take off the plastic part. And yes I cut off the hose part. Did you get the oil catch can kit from bull boost?

@@Mercenary_MaLNo I did not. I just got some Amazon ones. I already pulled it out and I took the piece off however I’m trying to make it look clean so I can also put the little cover back on. I think I’m going to cut the hose pipe that’s under the air box from behind the first bolt and run the hosing to the catch can so I can turn it to the left without having to go up and take up the space to be able to put the cover back. Hope you understand?

The single hose between the oil sepetrator and intake is what you want. What you did is, imo, pointless.

So you saying I got it on backwards?
@chevota400
@chevota400 3 ай бұрын
@@Mercenary_MaL I'm actually having trouble remembering exactly, because they make different versions for different engines, and they are also confusing in how they work! The oem setup should be that air flows from the little tubes on the intake (between the filters and turbos), into the engine. Only under boost would air flow in reverse. As long as blow-by is low, it won't blow any oil out and into those intake tubes. On mine those lines are bone dry. I know you checked yours, so if there was oil you need to figure out why you have blowby, or maybe the PCV is not working right? On the back of the centrifugal PCV dealie, pointing towards the intake, there should be a tube going directly to the intake. That's where oil gets sucked into the engine, and where you want a catch can. It's buried back there, but look/feel for it. It connects to the closest point on the intake about level with the top of the throttle blade. It not only can catch oil better there, but it can also catch any leakage at the PCV itself, when the seal fails and bleeds oil. I wanted to put a catch can on mine years ago, but never did, because I'm lazy. And back then is the last time I looked, so I'm going on memory here.
