I dont know if you own all of the properties that you work on or someone else does, but if you are employed by someone else they should thank their lucky stars to have someone as talented as you. You probably save them hundreds of thousands a year because I wouldn't call what you do "maintenance " You're actually an HVAC tech, electrician, plumber, and speed queen repair tech all rolled into one. Well done as usual

Hello Samlo, as usual, very nice of you!!! Thank you so much!! It would be nice if only one of the properties was mine, LOL. Although the owners treat me very nice! I can not complain. Thank you again for your support.

Do you recommend the teflon paste over the yellow tape that comes in these kits?
@alexthehandyman34949 ай бұрын
Yes I do . It is double the seal. Double the chance to succeed .

Why you didn’t put the white sealants on the yellow line connector?
@alexthehandyman3494 Жыл бұрын
Hello. Those connectors are flare connectors. They don’t get any Teflon paste or tape. The seal is at the flare not at the threads . (Metal to metal anything in between jeopardizes the seal )
@gregorynolan380311 ай бұрын
Good question, no tape/sealant on flare connections.

thanks but i'm confused about the hose used. It looks like you have a 1/2 in OD. But the link takes you yo one that is 5/8 OD, which would seem more appropriate for a large Stove w/ oven. Dont you have to consider what the BTU rating is and match the hose to it?
@alexthehandyman3494 Жыл бұрын
Hello Jeff, Good catch! However the total BTU for that Range/oven is 48,000 It has only 4 burners. The 1/2 OD flex line that I Installed is rated for 55000 BTU. So totally ok. But I get what you mean. If it was a double oven or bigger burners the 5/8 OD makes more sense. Thanks for your comment.

Hi, my gas line supply valve has a male flare end (the opposite of the one in this video) & the safety+plus fitting has the same so I can not connect it. Should I add a coupling? Or where can I find a safety+plus fitting with a female end?

Do you have to plug it up for the burners to come on?

Sir Alex, good day to you sir. Pardon my question, "What is the name of the product that you used to test for leaks, instead of the soapy bubbles in a spray bottle. I thought that was an interesting product in your hands. Thank you.

Not Alex. Still looked like soap and water.

I got a stove and the old hose doesnt fit the new one and i cant get it off should i just add an adapter
@alexthehandyman34947 ай бұрын
Yes just add an adapter. If your gas flex line is too old (10 yrs or more). I suggest you get a new one.

Can you explain using a nipple and changing the fitting? I have received a used stove that uses a 5/8 OD hose but my gas line on the wall is 1/2 OD flare valve.
@alexthehandyman3494 Жыл бұрын
Hello Vanessa, 99.9 % of ranges come equipped with half in male pipe. If that the case on your new used one, just remove the 1/2 fittings and flex line from your old existing one. Look at min 3:01 of the video. It shows 1/2elbow, 1/2nipple, 1/2gas valve, and 1/2 pipe to 1/2 connector. If you buy a new 1/2 lines it will come with two connectors and flex line. That might be all you need. Or use the1/2 flex and connectors you already have and your old existing range and put them on the new (used one ) Just send me a picture of what it comes out of the wall, and I will tell you what you need. Also send me a picture of the range connector.

Why did you fail to add a Union?
@alexthehandyman3494 Жыл бұрын
Hello Brian. You have to be more specific. And site the regulation number you are talking about. I understand a union on a furnace or boiler before the gas valve (as a control device). to be able to service or replace. but not on a range. Different application. The range has a shut off valve. Not a control gas valve .
