That tool to measure is amazing. I want to do this peel and stick on the kitchen floor but will add sealant between the joins so it is more protection when dry mopping. Also, I am going to use extra vinyl floor glue to really secure it to the floor in a high traffic area. Can I suggest for doing curve cutting to buy a 45mm rotary cutter. This will allow you to cut round and straight lines easily with a smooth finish unlike a knife. Great video ❤

Yeah, I had to remove some tiles because our bathroom had a leak and then there was a steam issue from the hot water leaking... When I removed the tile, it was so gross and sticky, but Comet Powder and a brush got it right up super clean! Just an FYI if anyone needs help removing the sticky residue.

When they're against the wall they won't have room to slide. Can't slide to the left if a wall is tightly against the left, same for every direction.

Thank you for this! I have a question that's probably dumb. Does the floor "shift" under your feet at all since it's adhered to the barrier and not the original floor itself?
@TieraLovelle2 жыл бұрын
No worries that not a dumb question. No they do not shift at all, for a few reasons the barrier material add a bit of grip once the tiles are placed, as well as because the tiles are fitted to the space they don’t shift or move plus I caulked around the perimeter. They’ve been in for almost 2 years and they haven’t budged. I don’t wanna send you to a bunch of different platforms but if you go to my TikTok I showed a video of me kind of demonstrating how it’s stuck down, And how they would be easy easy to remove when you move. The video is four rows down on my page. That’s if you want to see me talking about it in video format but to answer your question no it doesn’t.
@Chadsloss2 жыл бұрын
@@TieraLovelle Ahh ok. That makes sense! I was going to ask about caulking around the exterior in order to prevent any moisture from getting between the two layers. I'm sure the grout helps with that too. I'll check out your tiktok. I really appreciate all of your help!!

Does the barrier adhere by itself or did you have to use a separate adhesive?
@Foreverdanajay2 жыл бұрын
She didn’t adhere the barrier she basically made a rug kind of and to keep the barrier from shifting she caulked all the edges so they couldn’t move and when she’s ready to move out she will cut the caulking so it just lifts up like a rug

@Jvsminenguyen2 жыл бұрын
The grout and spacers just give it a more professional & cleaner look but not 100% necessary. However, the Spacers are used to keep all the tiles even while installing. The grout is good to prevent moisture from seeping in the cracks/tiles

Question,,,won't if water get under the tiles it will become unsticky ad come up?
@TieraLovelle2 жыл бұрын
Water does not get under the seams because it’s stuck down to the barrier so it can’t unstick also you caulk your borders so water does not get under your barrier or floor. Just like if you were to do any other tiling you always should caulk your surrounding area so it protects it, and it’s easy to remove when you’re done.

Did you wet the sponge first? After removing grout, you have to wring out the sponge A LOT each time. The excess grout will all come off the floor, leaving you with smooth, near grout lines.

@TieraLovelle Жыл бұрын
Hi I just taped the saran wrap to the barrier and then when I put the vinyl tile down on top of it it stayed in place. I did not tape the saran wrap to the floor. Just put as much saran wrap is needed in the area down to the floor tape the ends to the barrier so they stay in place and then place your tiles on top. it will not shift or move if your tiles are measured correctly.

It’s a shame. It’s a shame landlords don’t update their apartments, it’s a shame it all will be taken off when moving out. It’s a shame men nowadays don’t know how to even change a tire. It’s a shame women have to do this out of necessity and spent their hard earned money on these updates. You should have worked out a deal with landlord you are updating his apartment even it’s a cosmetic. He should have agreed to give you free months of rent
