I used the exactl flooring in my camper. I ended up pulling it all off the folli6year, and sprayed 3m adhesive on the existing floor, so it would have a double bond.

Another way to do that toilet piece, measure the size of the hole you need, measure center on your piece, use a make shift protractor to mark it. If that makes sense.

Do you have a tutorial on prepping the floor when installing peel & stick over existing vinyl?
@burnbuildsanddesigns7 ай бұрын
I don’t have a video for it… we did clean it with Isopropyl or a cleaner that leaves a clean finish. We sanded it lightly as well with 220 to allow a better stick. Just remember to clean the dust off well. Clean, sand, clean again, and allow to dry!

Do you recommend additional adhesive to make sure they don't peel out
@burnbuildsanddesigns2 жыл бұрын
It just depends on the plank your using, I’m a big believer in testing everything out. I have done both style of planks ones that need adhesive and these which are self adhesive. If you want to apply more adhesive to self adhesive planks, do a small test with a scrap piece to see if it will help prevent the plank from coming up. Only thing I would recommend is make sure the layer of Glue is thinner than normal, since it already has adhesive adding more glue might be counter productive with self adhesive planks. I hope this helps :). Let me know if it does and how it turns out!!! Good luck! Let me know if you have anymore questions. :)

Just wondering if nails you put in floor panel before you put flooring down are starting to show through and gaps in floor again are they not showing through When laying ours in caravan all joins in floor were completely sealed so no gaps We did same at home gaps were completely sealed where tiles had grout So floor was completely level Just wondering as sun can have affect if not completely level causing shrinking affect

How well did this hold up in your RV? Some say temp extreme changes in RVs cause buckling and cracks in between in RVs

I have the peel and stick, but our installer put it right on the wood instead of on top of the old flooring. It’s not staying down and moves all over. Any idea how to fix?

Did you use a special cleaner or solvent B4 install
@burnbuildsanddesigns Жыл бұрын
I am a big fan off double prepping. So I cleaned it with diluted vinegar/water, then went over it with 80 grit sand paper, then whipped it back down with Lysol wipes. I wanted the adhesive to really sink into the scratches created by the sand paper to prevent shifting. Then left room on the edges for the 1/4 round. It’s all in the Prep :). I apologize it took me so long to reply, I haven’t been on much since my injury from work. I’ll be back though…!!!

How do you do your cuts with a box cutter
@burnbuildsanddesigns Жыл бұрын
I utilized a speed square, measuring tape, long level… Measure the length needed by using the measuring tape, create your mark. Then utilize the speed square to create your cut line. Keep speed square in the same place put a lot of weigh onto it to hold it in place then utilize your box cutter with medium pressure…(you might have to cut same line a few times to cut all the way through. To measure smaller more narrow pieces, I would cut the length first, and then use a measuring tape to mark my width every 6” then used a long level to create my straight line crossing every 6th inch’s mark. Used the same level to cut my line with the box cutter. Hopefully this makes sense…tried to explain it the best I could lol. Thank you so much for your comment :)

Do you use an extra adhesive on these? Seen some videos where they do
@burnbuildsanddesigns Жыл бұрын
I’m my experience If you prep the previous surface clean of any contaminates you shouldn’t need to the self adhesive is pretty strong. Although I would say, if you add adhesive yourself it definitely wouldn’t hurt :)

How many packages of planks did u use?
@burnbuildsanddesigns2 жыл бұрын
We bought 3 only used 2. It helps to save scraps to fill in odd shapes areas. I do plan to fill in area where you can’t see ie: under dinette seats, under bed. So I will most likely end up using all 3. If you don’t care about those areas…2 boxes should be good enough with extra planks for future repairs if needed :)

how did your new flooring project go? I'm thinking of replacing my crappy vinyl sheet floor in my RV. Thinking of using the Peal and Stick stuff. Any suggestions?
@burnbuildsanddesigns6 ай бұрын
@@IanoftheRVinwe’ve used it on all the last 3 trailers we have done… we did glue on the first one… and I would not recommend it. It holds up well but the process is a pain, and after doing both, I’m not sure I saw a difference in the outcome worth the process to me. We did have one set of floors that would start minor “gapping” after that first year (best ways to avoid is install pieces really tight, but gapping was only less than a cm for reference). I don’t know if this is avoidable as I feel like we had this even with the glue route. Many suggest a tinted caulk over time to keep it looking good. I think the link for ones I got is in the comments, but feel free to keep asking me any questions you have I’ll help in any way I can! 😊

Marion, I apologize I am now just replying to this, I got injured at work and couldn’t do much, forgive me. Just cut a straight line as close to the half circle as possible and use the same plank to recut half moon. All planks don't & shouldn't line up at the ends anyway
