I’m adding this comment to three videos: I did lower rearward, lower foreword, and upper control arm today. The part that’s super important is I struggled for like an hour trying to get the upper control arm bolts through the shocks. Because I was doing all three, I already had the lower part of the shock disconnected at that wishbone joint. As such, it was SUPER EASY to just disconnect the top of the strut under the hood to allow it to move out of the way to remove the inner upper control arm bolts. It took me an hour to figure out the one side, then about 10 minutes to do the other side.

Ther is a trick to the top arm wher ya take one bolt out fully and wiggle the arm so the bolt just makes it ove the spring

I did this arm without lowering the subframe. I used a prybar to flex the subframe to allow removal of bolt

If your subframe flexed, it is rotted.

all bolts should be tightened in the suspension position and not in the lowered position

I have a question if you replace the cv axle / the forward arm control and the reweard arm control is it necessary to use torque specs ??? What happen If I don't have it a torque tool . A1 auto parts .

I cannot get my balljoint off, ive tried a ball joint seperator and pickle forks and a mini sledge and i bought a cclamp type press but its so big i cant get it in because of the cc axle, im so frustrated

Question for you: I've seen some videos that say you should disconnect the steering shaft before you drop the subframe. Is this not necessary?

I had the same question. Also, do you need to preload the suspension before torquing the bolts of the control arms to the subframe? Some people suggest it, others are just tightening them up with the suspension fully extended.

Ok, for the next time when salt is the norm during winter like here in Canada, anti seize everywhere. As a comment, I've got 246,000km or 153k on my 2004 mazda 6 2.3 and nothing will come apart like buddah like on this car. Also have a 08 mazda 6 3.0 with 148k miles and I will face my doom doing both cars........Knock knock who is there??? Just everything about to fall apart
