Buy a Ring Video Doorbell Here: amzn.to/3XH6cPP
Today we will show you how we installed the Ring Video Doorbell 2 on the brick siding of our home. We found that the drill bit that came with the Ring Doorbell 2 did not work as well as we thought it would so we purchased the Bosch Drill bit and it made things go a lot faster! We hope this helps you as you install your Ring Video Doorbell 2 on the brick part of your home. If you have any questions, leave comments below and we would love to answer them. We cannot be held responsible for any problems during your repairs or installations and cannot guarantee that this fixes your problems. Please take caution and wear appropriate safety gear. We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version kzbin.infoUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

Thanks for the drill bit suggestion! I was getting pissed off with the cheap one Ring gives you. I'd rather they not include it at all rather than give one that doesn't work. Great idea. I think it would work just fine. You can give it a try and if it doesn't work you can always drill two more holes. I really don't think you'll have any problems. Kryssana MacPherson No, You need to make sure it looks level in relationship to the bricks. And then make sure that when you are marking the bricks with the plate just make sure that you do good job marking and that it's level and you don't move the plate while you're making the markings. I hope this helps. good luck and have a great day!

For the Ring Doorbell 2 there is no mounting plate. The screws go directly into the doorbell. Does this make sense?

How does it work then? I want a doorbell/Camera, but I thought you'd have to have wires coming into your house. Do you have to charge it?
@BigAlRepairs
@BigAlRepairs 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you do have to charge this model. We bought a solar panel for the ring so it charges automatically in the sunlight but you can take the battery out and charge it. The Ring video doorbell PRO requires wires and an existing doorbell transformer. Ring has a couple of different doorbells that do not require wires. Here is a link to find the ring products: amzn.to/3Ac0VCH

If you don't have a hammer drill -- or even if you do -- select a location so that 2 of the 4 holes go through the mortar instead of the brick. Now, 2 of your holes will go *much* faster.

I just use a regular drill. It would probably help if you did use a hammer drill. But it was really easy for me to drill the holes once I picked up the drill bit at Lowe's. Different bricks might be more difficult to penetrate so you might need to use a hammer drill. Let us know how it turns out. Be very careful with a hammer drill. on brick like is shown{just thin slices of brick) the vibrations of the hammer may crack the bricks. Brick is very hard to drill because it is baked like ceramics.

When you are drilling brick or masonry, ALWAYS wear N95 masks as bricks and mortars have silica inside them. Even minor exposure to them can cause hazardous conditions on your health.
