I’m getting ready to replace my inner and outer rocker panels on my 04 Silverado. My sandblaster is a pressure washer gun with a siphon hose, 5 gallon bucket of salt, and air. Works great. Yes this is a job. I’ve already done a few of these trucks. Great video!

How bad? I mean is it do-able in a weekend. I have experience with some minor body and cab repair and decent at welding. Im just worried about the filler and bondo portions. I have heard sander n paint makes you a body guy you aint 😂

Hey bro, Thanks so much for this video. I am in the starting processes of restoring my 95 Chevy C2500 (5.7 not a Duramax) and one of the big things I am worried about is repairing the body, which is in bad shape. Rocker panels, cab corners, and doors are all rusted very bad and the bed is non existent and polishing the frame luckily that is still solid just has a lot of surface rust that I can see so far. Even though I am not quit there this video gave me a lot of knowledge that I did not have. I am a mechanic and don't know squat about making body repairs but this video eased a lot of my worry and gave me a little confidence. If anyone has any tips on good places to get new body panels, paint and such I would greatly appreciate it. Keep being awesome!

NICE JOB! We're from Port Huron and I'm doing all this on My '03 S10 w/478k. Runs like a champ but looks like dirty pig just from the last 2 yrs of Michigan salt. Getting ready to retire and gonna take it down to the frame and redo the whole right and bring it back to the Life it had in LA. They don't make trucks like that anymore...sad BUT we DIY'ers dive in. GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!

If you use wax with them they will stay sharp a lot longer! Just drill the wax block slightly and then drill the weld.

You really should've done the inner rockers, sand blast and rust preventative will only work for so long in our states. Plus when you do the inner rockers it actually makes the job easier.
@norsevikingsir49323 жыл бұрын
I'd also suggest using a weldable primer, when doing rust repair work.
@norsevikingsir49323 жыл бұрын
Should've used the body line on the cab corner as your paint blending area.

your make your life that much easier and get a spot weld cutter. its basicly a drill but made to drill out spot welds and it wont go through whatever your drilling, well arleast it shouldnt go through but thats all on the operator. but good stuff man, not to many get as in depth as you when it comes to your vids.
