From one hour to the next, I Telegram doesn't open as usual. It takes me to the "start messaging", and when I enter my number, it doesn't send me the code. I've used it for years, never had that problem.

Not helpful at all! It's not a problem to install Telegram on PC - it's creation of account! You are signing into your existing account - not signing up!
