My contractor didn’t use the foam tape. Do I still need to use the caulk? The caulk looks awful no matter what.

I would suggest not using caulk. Should be okay

Why do you put a seal gasket and not adhesive like you guys did for the other bathtub? which way is better ?

Hi Albert, The sill plate gasket or sill seal prevents noise from the wall panel contacting the studs. Sill plate gasket should be stapled to the studs as shown. -Bryan
