@@Bsalazar9877 You're better off looking up a tutorial on how to get FreeMCboot and OPL running on your ps2 and then loading spec II onto your HDD. Modern CDs that have games burnt onto them tend to strain the ps2s disc laser so I honestly would not recommend doing that.

@andrewdare1990 i figured out you must dowload the full version on the spec 2 download site, do not try it with the uptade version. The i only thing i find a little strange is that why is there a uptade version wich has more data then the full version. I just hope i have the full Spec 2 now installed with the full file.

@@christophwolfslehner4754 umm, the update file is definitely not larger. its 72KB. meanwhile the full patch is 657MB. the update file is meant to patch your game if youre already running spec 2. as in, if you have spec 2 but theres a newer version of spec 2, you download the update file. for first time installing, you use the full file ofc

use the internet archive version of the game image, make sure you are using the "full" patch from admeister, and use the xdelta link in this video and NOT the link on the Spec II page. The xdelta patcher linked in the spec2 site is from 2009, while the one in this video is from 2022.

My GT4 Online Public Beta version doesn't have the "online" option on main menu neither the "network" inside options. I've already patched it as you do in this video. Then I downloaded another version (which has the same code: SCUS-97436) that shows the "online" and "network" options, but xdelta shows an error when I try to patch it. Is that correct? Does your version have the online options?

Hey, I've installed the deltapatcher and followed your steps with a bare bone beta copy along with the latest patch 1.08 as of this time of writing. However the game didn't appear as PATCHED though it is slightly bigger in size with the same name (2,5 to 3,59 GB). My save file still exists from the 1.06 version and don't notice any differences after downloading the full patch after deleting my 1.06 version of the game. Please help.

On the game options go to the Dualshock 2 button config and then swap the default breaking and throttle (X and Square) for L2 and R2 What this mod adds is better triggers sensitivity which is on by default

you can change this ingame by going into the race menu the area before you start the race and then over on the right you see settings and then scroll down to the controller section and it should be the first one that changes the buttons

hi can anyone help me for whatever reason i cant seem to steer in GT4. I can scroll through the menus using the left stick just fine but when i get into a race i cannot steer. i tried reinstalling the game and that didnt work i tried using the other input methods and even the raw input and still nothing. Im using a genuine xbox series x/s controller which should be compatible. To note i also have a logitech g29 that the game doesnt see at all and i suspect that may be causing a issue unsure though.

Yeah try unplugging the g29, also steam can conflict with the emulator too so if you have that try closing

Hey guys I had the XD3_invalid_input issue and my issue was that my file extension was CHD as I prefer CHD to save on space. Once I switched back to ISO I was able to apply the patch. I dont know if this will help anyone but if youre using CHD file type it does not patch correctly. From the site: "NOTE: Some versions of xdelta may not preserve the .iso extension, meaning your patched disc image may not be recognised by your PS2/PCSX2 setup. Ensure that the output file has a .iso extension before continuing."

If it's from the main Gran Turismo 4 it does not work, it has to be the online public beta. If that's the case you can just apply the mod as normal, but it might cause bugs on prizes and event completion rewards stuff so it's best to mod this on a new save.
