Vance & Hines released its latest fuel management device, the FP4, the next generation of engine control module (ECM) flash tuning products. The FP4 features an all-new circuit board, case, firmware and mobile app, all of which were designed and manufactured in Santa Fe Springs, California. The FP4 brings greater control and optimum performance tuning to Harley-Davidson Touring and Softail models because it’s the only app-driven tuner in the market.
“We know riders want the best setup for their Harley-Davidson, just like we do for our race bikes,” said Vance & Hines President Mike Kennedy. “Think about it, the bike’s stock ECM is set for a stock exhaust and factory air intake. When you make changes, like adding a different exhaust or air intake, you need the right tune to get the full performance potential out of your engine.”
The heart of the Vance & Hines FP4 is the ability to dial-in the motorcycle’s ECM tune to match the performance upgrades that a rider adds to their motorcycle, such as an aftermarket exhaust system and a high flow air intake. Owners of the FP4 may choose from a vast library of Vance & Hines maps created in the company’s dyno-tuning lab in California. Vance & Hines maps are model-specific and are created using actual parts on real motorcycles, not projections made from previous tests. Owners are able to further develop those maps with a number of customization options found in the FP4 app.

Hello: I want to buy the FUELPAK P4 ECU for my HD 48 year 2015, I have V&H SHORTSHOTS STAGGERED exhausts but I have an ARLEN NESS MINI 22 air filter, can I map the bike with that air filter? Or it must be a V&H air filter. THANK YOU SO MUCH

Look at the ratings on the App Store, believe it. If you have a aftermarket soundstream stereo they claim it “may be a problem” to use together. Expensive Paperweight

I want to run V&H exhaust dampers on my 2021 StreetBob 114. This year they have sensors for the rear exhaust mufflers as well as on the headers. Will using the FP4 eliminate the need for these sensors? And if so, what do I do with these sensors + wiring?

I installed the FP4 on my 2017 FLHTP after I had the S&S oil and cam chest installed. I put a K&N filter unit and Cobra neighbor hater slip ns on also. The throttle response is great and the bike runs cooler. I did not change the cam but I was looking for more reliability . I would suggest this to anyone doing some basic changes to their bike. I am here for the same information. I used an Iphone and got my VH Short Shots tuned. I couldn't figure out the intake.

I believe it is because all the supported models already have a stage 1 intake fitted from factory. At least that is the case with the softails. I hope that helps

I believe you can but you have a to choose a similar exhaust in fp4 app to your tbr

You really need to tell what it won't do. I bought mine for my 21 street glide and won't do decell pop or throttle response, just start with.

Bought it for my 2011 Dyna Fat Bob. It will not pass the initial update setup screen. I’ve sent Vance and Hines 2 emails and no answer. Very frustrating experience. I was very excited and looked forward to buying more Vance and Hines products but so far their support hasn’t supported their product.

Have you tried calling them. I just had one put on my 07 ultra but I have not picked the bike up yet. I keep seeing negative stuff and I’m getting anxious that I’m going to get the stop wasting money speech from my wife again

@@rjj5075 I had found an email from one of the techs on a Harley Forum. He guided me through the whole step. The initial setup kept asking to put my bike on Acc but by doing that it would shut off the FP4. I left it in IGN with the kill switch on and it updated. I was successful in installing the closest tune to my setup. I tried auto tune in “advanced setup” and lowered the temp to work and also put o2 sensor voltage to .8v. It seemed to work. From what he told me. Auto tune is only supposed to learn what it needs. So you may not get the same result as everyone else. Typically the preset tunes are close to perfect when flashed

@@mobkinq I just bought the bike. It was completely original with 18,000 miles on it. I’m getting a thunderheader installed and I put a stage one screaming eagle breather on it. I hope this thing works. I was told by the shop that I left it at that they could do a tune on it. Then I’m out of town for a week on business and they say that they can’t tune it and I need a tuner. I asked what they recommend and they said the FP3. Then he said oh they are making a new one. That’s what you need. So I bought it. Now I’m terrified after reading reviews. I’m starting to wish I hadn’t sold my FXR. Throw some keys in and head out.

@@rjj5075 yeah… I too was disappointed after reading reviews and having the first issue straight out the box. I hadn’t done much research on it until after I clicked checkout online. Nonetheless, it seems my bike is running good. I don’t care much for all the other features like sensor info. I don’t like to ride with my phones screen the whole time unless in auto tune. I personally didn’t feel a difference after tuning. I’ve owned 1000cc sport bikes with sprockets and ecu flash. so anything compared to that seems minimal. But It does tell you if your engine is running rich/lean. You always have the chance to get it right using auto tune. And have the opportunity to change idle, develop pop, and rev limit

On my 07 sporty 1200, it will only connect in the on position. Then tells me in ‘low’ while on tender. Painful and not as quick and easy as the vid makes out!

I installed an FP4 on my 21 Street Bob tonight, about 3 hours ago, and it connects to my iPhone just fine.

Many features on the FP4 don’t work with IOS, if it connects at all, just go to the App Store and check out the reviews, problems are numerous.
