I just strip out the wires and just connect them together. You can just use electric tape or you can use a wire connector for it

Careful guys, I purchased everything listed and installed following the video for the fuse tap part. Never spliced wires before but video made it look easy. The fuse adapters are listed at 12V but only 5A, the fuses that it comes with them are also only 5A. Video says to tap into 15AMP or 7.5AMP with those 5AMP fuses. Found out after I blew 2 fuses! Also, I believe the ring connector used were for AWG12-10(yellow) ... I used the same ones, but aren't we are supposed to use AWG 22-16(red ones) for these wires?

They aren't long enough, so I plan to buy 2 kits. Take the side skirt ones from kit 2, cut them off, then cut off the fronts from kit 1, and connect the sideskirt lights to the wire for the fronts, so I have two 5' lengths for each side up front. I'm hooking mine up and making a circuit so they turn on when the car is unlocked, off when locked, and on when the door is open, off when door is closed.

Use the fuse for headlight if you have remote start. I have a 2016 Impala and the underglow turns on when I use remote start. I had to go into vehicle settings and selected headlights to turn on when using remote start otherwise only your directional lights will only turn on

So the picture on Amazon shows a quick disconnect between each light strip. However when I received my kit it was only two strands (like shown in the video) The problem with this is if you connect the light strips to your front or rear bumper and then if you need to remove said bumper the light strips are attached and need to be removed to take off the bumpers. If there were quick disconnects you could easily disconnect the light strips and then remove the bumper with the light strips still intact.

I meant 3m tapped lol but these hold up good. I just kinda messed them up because my car was very low at a point. But these are also water proof. From my experience I didn’t see the led strips when I put them on the side skirt. Overall, this was one of my favorite mods.

hey so i wired mine the same way but after one day the negative cable connected to a metal surface stopped giving power and stopped working . is it okay if i keep my positive cable wired to the fuse adapter and the negative cable connected to the battery?

I just installed underglow lights that come with a key fob remote, even when car is off they stay on and there connected using 20a fuses for top and bottom and just turn on and off remote. Should I be worried about waking up to a dead battery sometime or what advice do you have to prevent a dead battery??

I would recommend 7.5 of 7 fuse to be extra safe. But I ran with 15 and it was fine

Rule of thumb for the legality, any color in used by emergency services lights are illegal to be on your car. So generally, blue and red are illegal if your not a in service cop, firefighter or ambulance. Yellow usually is also restricted. If you Wana avoid trouble pick any color but those and look up for any extra restrictions.

In some places red and blue under glow are legal but cops will annoy you with tickets that you will have to contest so you might as well not use them

so basically for those of you who don’t know.. isn’t the smartest idea to use them while driving your car. If you are stationary and they are on it shouldn’t be an issue.

When I did it with mine, it was fine. To be extra safe. Maybe 7.5 or 7 will be on the safe side.
