How to install valve springs & keepers quickly, with less frustration

THANK YOU! I’ve just spent hours fiddling about with this very problem on a very small (125cc) Kawasaki engine and getting absolutely nowhere! I stopped for a coffee watched your video, then stole my Wife’s Vaseline. I followed your instructions and within minutes I’d got both valves fitted. I was struggling with this very problem, i kept losing keepers and due to bad eyesight could not find them, a 5 minute job was taking hours, i tried this method and by the eck, it worked, thanks.

Thanks...lol had them falling on the shop floor and was using a magnet to find them!! If you lived closer I would buy you a beer! Thanks for sharing

This worked perfectly. I have the valve spring compressor u have to use a ratchet with and the cam on, so I C-clamped the head down to the table. Wheel bearing grease and a screw driver worked well.

I used grease too years ago, but it was just regular grease so it wasn't sticky enough

Thanks for the video. I had man handled 2 of them in & knew there was a better way. Used Vaseline & while still not easy waaaaayyy better. By the way, why does every small screwdriver have to be magnetized (not enough to actually pick up a nut or a bolt though:) it kept trying to keep my keepers. Thanks again

Vaseline doesn't work quite as well as the Transmission Assembly Lube does. It is not as thick and sticky. However, if you refrigerate the Vaseline before you use it, it works better!

great; grease is much better than magnets; magnets drive you crazy,they keep pulling them keepers out.
