How to Install Whole House Surge Protector | Type 2 SPD | Cable RG6 Surge Protection

We install a Type 2 whole house surge protection device (SPD) on my main service entry panel. We knockout a hole on the side and attach it to the side of the panel so we can see the indicator lights. While we are at it, we also install a RG6 Coax SPD for the incoming cable line.
If you are doing this with a dedicated 50A breaker, make sure its the same brand and model/type as your existing one. They are brand specific.

Pretty good job. One thing to note is the manual recommends "have one twist per inch to reduce the impedance of the wire". So you just need to twist the wire together. I made the same mistake when I installed this as well, found out when I talked with others online that did this.

During the install you mentioned that it is important to separate the Ground (green wire) and neutral (white wire). However, it looks from the work you were doing you put both on the same ground bus. Am I seeing that wrong? I have a similar outside shutoff like yours and I only have a single bar that I assume I put both the ground AND neutral - is that right (it doesn't appear in my panel that I only have a single bar.

On the main entry panel, the ground and neutral are bonded together. On subpanel they are separated. If you install on anything other than main panel, the ground and neutral has to be separated.
