Usually this technique/queue videos are fluffy and situational but this was amazing. Can't believe this has not be mentioned most other YT videos. We all learn super early to do compound lifts to work out the whole body/kinetic chain/more muscles but not show how we use the whole body to generate maximal force, which was the goal of compound lifts in the first place.
@mistergolfer79 жыл бұрын
Alan is the man, these cues take a lot of the complexity of the lifts away while still promoting good form. Keep the videos coming!

Great video. With the squat, you will hear, drive through your heels to come back up, but watching it being done and also adding the cue of driving the upper back into the bar brings the lift to life. Gonna use these.. thanks!

Great Alan!! As alvays I'm completly agree with this idea. This technique is also functional to increase the number of pull ups. If you think to pull down the bar to your chest while you pull ups the body, you can increase the reps or the weight.

Great video Alan. Just one thing I want to mention. When performing the bench press you suggested moving your feet BACK until your butt doesn't come off the bench when using leg drive. I do use leg drive, but I actually move my feet AWAY from the bench until my butt doesn't come off the bench when using leg drive. The idea is that I drive my heels into the floor (almost like I'm trying to slide backwards on the bench) which helps drive my shoulders into the bench through the arch in my back. Just wanted to point out that you don't HAVE to move your feet back, you can do the same thing by moving your feet forward (and I think it has the added benefit of allowing you to keep your feet flat on the ground).
