Dr. Rowe shows how to INSTANTLY relieve neck pain at the base of the skull. All of these exercises can be done at home and require no special equipment.
In this video, we're going to deal with the muscles at the base of the skull, the upper neck, notably the SUB-OCCIPITAL muscles.
When these upper neck muscles become tight and achy they may cause a lot of issues including tension HEADACHES, loss of motion into the neck, and just downright PAIN.
Let's RELIEVE this upper neck pain in a very easy step-by-step guide. We're going to focus on self-massaging those muscles, stretching them out, and also strengthening them -- so hopefully we'll have a lot less issues of neck pain in the future.
All of these exercises can be done AT HOME, don't require any special equipment, and may give quick relief -- even in as little as 30 SECONDS!
So let's get started and get rid of that pain at the base of the skull right now!

gooday mate, im 70 broke my neck at 9, pain all my life a busy full on life too, needed a variaty of pain killers all my life as well. mildly did my version of your exercises in the early evening, honestly an ache until later in the evening then a warm pleasant feeling below my head. following day went about my usual activities, had lunch and realised i had been unaware of my neck so far all day, first time im sure. this is the first time ive walked around with my mind in grin mode, if you know what i mean. thank you so much for opening up my mind to a realistic method of getting on with life. i wish i knew this before.

I'm still struggling to fix my ongoing neck issues, but I've also found that press ups against a wall (hands at shoulder height, feet about 18 - 24 inches away from wall, squeezing shoulder blades together as I sink upper body towards the wall) really helps when it starts to affect the back of my skull. For anyone who might also benefit.

Had very sore neck at base of skull and the first exercise with the spoon brought huge relief. There was a big gritty area which was zapped away by this method. I can definitely notice immediate difference when I look from side to side. Thank you so much .. you’re always my go to doctor for any muscular relief. So blessed to have found you.

I’ve been through PT 6 times in the past 4 years. Occipital neuralgia caused by over tightened neck and back/shoulder muscles. Botox for migraines, extra massage therapy. I wasn’t shown most of these stretches/massage this way. So never got relief. THANK YOU!

Dr. Excellent video. The stretches are felt immediately. I suffer from Cervical instabilities , FHP, sites of stenosis in the cervical, thoracic and Lumbar Spines. C3-C7 dics bulges, and severe DDD throughout with Facet Joint "Syndrome". VBertigo, Tinnitus, Ear Ringing and Pressure , TMJ issues, severe neck tension into the dront along the chest into the stomach and Diaphragm (breathing difficulties), IBS, Sinusitis, and most prominent , gait unsteadiness/balance issues. These Stretches (and some others dipslayed on your channel and that of some others too), help quite a lot. My last Chiro session ober two weeks ago where the Chiro had me lie on a table which had a Rolling Message mechanism seemed to Incite or aggravate the cervical issues. When I returned to my car a few minutes later, I had a Full Blown Vertigo attack, the interior of the car was Spinning round and round. I did not panic, let it settle down and drove home trepediaciously. I stopped the sessions. Something "moved " or was disturbed that evoked the Vertigo IMHO. I had a similar attack in 2018 after ling on a large Swiss ball to stretch my back. I laid on my back acvross the swiss Ball, and after I raised my head - WOW a Room spinning attack. The cervical issues together with the Lumbar conditions contribute to Chronic Pain with more prominent Stiffness throughout my Spine. This is going on for over 40 years with deteriorating spinal conditions which were "born" from a 1 inch shorter right leg, a result of fractured right femur in 1966 at age 15. I'm 70 now, and that Unadressed issue has played complete Havoc with my Spine affecting my well being.

I can DITTO that reaction. Boy did this stretch helped immediately !! No Meds, no huge & expensive equipment, and was never relayed to me by any of the 6 Chiros I have visited for the past 12 years. This dr. does emphasize Forward head Posture, many on the Interweb do. They warn that if you think Diabetes is at epidemic levels, Wait until the affects of Tech Neck hits the population. Sitting in front of a PC, looking down at your phone constantly, poor Posture in genertal, and especially if you have long Commuter drives (like me for 48 years). I'm 70 YO, and suffer with Chronic pain / stiffness / tempral headaches/ TMJ/ Chronic Sinusistis, Tinnitus, IBS / GERD , even incontinence - all stemming form the Cervical Spine.
